Did you hear The Mooch yesterday, banging on about how “lucky” he is?
Who did that remind you of?
Well, they say that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery … by God, that man is desperate to wrap the media around his finger, and he’ll try anything.
This was him showing us his softer side.
And you know what inspired that, right?
This man does not have an original thought in his head unless it’s a stupid one.
Everything else is shameless nicked, and his favourite people to nick stuff from? Celtic.
This was his effort at giving us a little personal insight. It was slightly nauseating, most particularly because he just doesn’t’ do sincerity all that well. He talks about time with his family being everything and then talks about being a “football obsessive” who thinks about the game 24/7, which makes me wonder if he’s really the full shilling.
It’s as if, though, he’s swallowed the Ange Postecoglou playbook and is going through it bit by bit, only doing it badly. The man makes me laugh, he really does.
Why doesn’t this guy just sit in front of the media and talk football instead of branching off into all these other things that aren’t really within his purview?
If he wants to be more like Ange, then he can be like him simply by not snarking about other clubs, focussing on his own team, talking about only his own players and taking it one game at a time.
Oh yeah, and a little respect for other clubs wouldn’t go amiss either.
Ange excels at giving them their due respect. He could learn a lot right there.
On that subject, let me close off the article with a minor digression.
I know the media does, in fact, love this joker but to dredge up comments from Gus McPherson from 2009 when he criticised an opposing team’s pitch in order to make him sound like a hypocrite for defending his own club from The Mooch’s ridiculous rant … it’s dire even by The Daily Record’s standards.
How long did it take them to come up with that?
I guess we should be impressed as it shows that they are capable of actual research … it’s just a shame they don’t direct it at more serious issues.
