Richard Keys Village Idiot Point On Rangers Actually Shines A Light On The Truth.

Remember Richard Keys? If you’re of a certain vintage (the young team in other words) the answer to that question will almost certainly be no, as it’s been more than ten years since he was last a household name amongst football fans here.

But Keys and his back-slapping buddy, the bigoted scoundrel and misogynist Andy Gray were once the faces at the front of the house on Sky. With Gray as his “link” to the game here – as well as Souness; oh what company he keeps – it’s no wonder that he hasn’t got the first clue about issues in Scottish football, and he’s too ignorant and up his own arse to care about that now.

I wrote earlier about the questions facing Manchester City, and they are big questions and that club is in a lot of trouble.

Blundering into the issue, as someone only truly, incomprehensibly clueless could have done, Keys has tried to equate what should happen to them with what happened to Rangers, although the two issues aren’t similar in the least.

As if to display in full how absolutely without any understanding of it he is, he attempts to ask if these issues are serious enough to warrant a Rangers style “relegation” which we all know of course is an absurdist fantasy.

But he then goes on to shine a light on the stupidity of his own point by claiming that this “relegation” happened “without due process.”

And oddly enough, it’s here that he almost hits the mark although I’m absolutely certain that he had had no intention whatsoever of doing so.

Because that’s long been the argument on our side of this; that if they had been relegated then of course there wouldn’t have been any due process whatsoever as no process for relegating a club based on having bad finances existed or exists now.

This is the essence of the Survival Lie and its precursor and prop, the Victim Lie in a nutshell, and this site has long argued that you cannot separate the two of them. Because one cannot exist without the other.

We don’t live with one lie in Scottish football, we live with a pair of them and that’s what Keys has inadvertently shone a light on today.

The only way that the current club playing out of Ibrox is Rangers is if Rangers was demoted and the only way that could have happened is if Scottish football’s bosses had acted out-with their own regulations to do so. That’s why to subscribe to the Survival Lie you also have to be a fully paid up clown-car driving believer in the Victim Lie as well.

Rangers and their fans were “victimised.”

But ask yourself the question I have posed over and over again and which Keys and his stunted intellect has apparently never even considered; if it had happened the way he says it did, the way I am sure he believes that it did (a pure fairy-tale) then why didn’t the club contest it? All the way to the courts. All the way to CAS.

Would we have contested it? You’re damned right we would have, and in the interim we’d have threatened to stop Scottish football even from functioning.

Let’s try to break down what it is that this yahoo thinks happened here, because it’s instructive to do that and thus reveal it for the lunacy it is.

He thinks that the SPFL and the SFA “relegated” Rangers. But this was presumably the same SPFL and the same SFA who bent over backwards trying to put the NewCo into the top tier and when that failed they tried to put them into the second tier. The same people. The same organisations, made up of the very same individuals.

So why bother to do one if you’re then going to do the other?

This whole thing depends on Orwellian doublethink, and it always has, and I’ve never understood how any of its most prominent cheer-leaders can keep so many flatly contradictory ideas in their heads at the same time.

And as far as “without due process”, goes that too is undiluted pish and it is based on a momentous lack of understanding of what was going on then and what all of us who were awake during it witnessed taking place.

The SPFL and the SFA had no say in what happened. They lost a club, due to circumstances which, by the way, had nothing to do with the entirely separate offences in the EBT case.

Remember, what happened to them in 2012 had nothing at all to do with the football case against them for their use of EBT’s … they simply ran out of money and the tax man came after them for it, and managed to fold the Big Tax Case into their final demand.

The situation at City is entirely different. If he wants to compare it to Lord Nimmo Smith that’s a better comparison, except that it won’t suit him because that led to no title stripping or indeed any other punishment that was worthwhile.

But that this joker can’t even separate the two different things – the financial mess the club was in and their deliberate with-holding of registration paperwork from the governing bodies, essentially enmeshing the SFA in a tax fraud – tells you everything you need to know about his actual level of understanding here and his basic comprehension skills.

Not only was there “due process” in the LNS case, but it was stitched up beforehand to make sure that nobody emerged from it seriously damaged. All except for the reputation of the game here which continues to suffer for it, as this idiot has proved.

And the decision to make the NewCo start life in the bottom tier?

What else but “due process” do you call it when every club in the country – including Rangers! People forget that! – gets to vote on where the NewCo started in the structure.

The clubs made their decision, the right decision, in keeping with the best interests of sporting integrity.

New clubs start at the bottom, and that’s where they had to begin.

Even then there were favours done and called in in order to smooth the way for them.

So I mean, honestly, Keys has done nothing today except hold himself up as a pure fool with no idea what he’s talking about at all.

He’s already getting pelters about it on social media, as he should be, and he deserves all of them.

Man City actually have a decent defence against title stripping etc now that the SFA has set a precedent.

They are buried, dead and buried in 2012, and will never win anything ever again. Why? Because they are dead. This ‘son of Frankenstein’ is a new club, not Rangers, they’re dead. Hail Hail
