Clownish Anti-Celtic Hack Proves Again That He’s The Most Contemptible Of The Lot.

Hugh Keevins latest dire piece opens with a smug, condescending swipe at one of his remaining listeners on Radio Clyde. Think about that.

When you are up your arse enough to feel that you can take a shot at your own dwindling audience then is it a wonder that you arrogantly make predictions that blow up in your face, as happened again yesterday, and that your newspaper column is read only so that it can be mercilessly mocked?

He is, without a shadow of a doubt, the most ridiculous individual in a media landscape where the fiercest competition appears to be a battle to wear the crown “Best of the Worst.” In that, at least, he would be a contender.

His article today is a joke, just as everything he writes is like a joke. Keevins himself is a joke that has gone on too long, one of those hoary old ones that people keep trotting out although the Use By was sometime in the mid 80’s.

Today’s article gets so much wrong that I was tempted, initially, to give it the line by line treatment as I usually do with Jackson, but whereas Jackson is a bad writer and shockingly biased and his arguments have the substance of wind, he is still streets ahead of Keevins as a journalist and whereas I use that term loosely in this case the truth is that Keevins simply isn’t worth the time or the effort. He’s better as an afterthought.

Still, that doesn’t mean that we should let him away with the deplorable garbage that he talks and I have no intention of doing so. The suggestion which is central to his article today is that Celtic fans care about the Scottish Cup insomuch as it will increase the pressure on The Mooch and his team. Is he demented enough to actually believe that?

You know what? I think that he probably is. Thirty years ago this joker would not have been the sharpest tool in the box anyway … his diminishing brainpower is summed up in nonsense like this and in the way he’s constantly embarrassing himself during games with predictions about Celtic dropping points.

But how can anyone actually believe that Celtic fans are more interested in bragging rights than with our club getting its hands on the silverware? You would think even the stupidest person would realise that this is not the case and to our supporters it’s the glory for ourselves that matters and not being able to lord it over them.

This has been pointed out on the blogs over and over again. Ange has said it. The players have said it. The fans believe it. The semi-final is only a bridge to that last day of the season, where if we get there a treble is there for the taking … but he thinks on that day we’ll be focussed on them? He lives on another planet this guy.

He is Scottish journalism’s Worst of the Worst.

There are no prizes whatsoever for that.
