Well Beaten By Celtic And Still Those At Ibrox Just Don’t Know When To Shut Up.

Oh dear God. They really can’t help it, can they?

This afternoon John Lundstram sat in front of the media and gave such a preening, arrogant interview that you’d have sworn they had actually won the game at the weekend even as he was acknowledging the defeat.

He refused to accept that Celtic were the better team.

“They showed up and we didn’t,” was his explanation for the win. Except that they did show up. I watched it, and they were clearly there. Just outplayed by a superior football team.

He claims there isn’t really that big of a gap. Nine points in the league as it stands and on the brink of a second double in two years and perhaps more.

Their club bangs the drum over a single title and a Scottish Cup. Our fans boast, rightly, of a dozen trophies in a little over 20 years. At Ibrox they think standards are represented in brown brogues and suits on match-days.

We have a different way of looking at things, and that’s why we’re consistently winners. If we win the treble this season it will be our fifth in seven years … that’s will put us one ahead of the former Ibrox club.

Needless to say, their current club has never won a treble, but they certainly know how to talk a good game. It’s a pity that doesn’t translate into trophies because they could hire an extra silver polisher rather than contemplate letting one of theirs go.

As long as this club of theirs continues to live with delusions and fantasises and refuses to engage with the real world we can just dominate them over and over again. That lunatic in their dugout told the media today he expects four top class signings this summer … he is wired to the moon if he believes that they can afford to give him that.

But the media loves it. Lundstram was offering a “rally cry” and “setting the record straight” in the words of some of the hacks. What I heard was a man talking utter mince and refusing to accept that his team were over-matched on the day.
