Brendan Rodgers was discreet at full time today, but he’s clearly angry at those decisions which went against us. He doesn’t want to take attention away from what the team did on the pitch, but he’s pissed off about those calls and he has every right to be.
“We created a lot of chances with some goals disallowed which I’ll have to see again, especially the offside and even the one before that, early on, where there’s two guys jumping for the ball and the ball lands and we finish and it’s given as a no goal. So I don’t see that as a good decision,” he said, which is classic Rodgers understatement.
He knows what both of them are.
He is not daft. He has clearly watched both incidents already, at half time, and is well aware that both are goals.
He is keeping his calm but he wants it on the record that he isn’t happy. I wonder if he’ll bring these decisions up prior to the Atletico game? It would be a good time to do it, with Europe’s media on hand.
We get these decisions against us with depressing – infuriating – regularity. VAR has not been a net positive for us in any way, shape or form.
The club must know it. The manager certainly does. He may have been relatively calm about today but that’s only because we didn’t drop any points as a result of it. The first time something like this looks as if it’s cost us in a massive game, I think this guy will raise the roof, and today will come up all over again.
I’ll tell you what won’t come up; complaints from Ross County over Celtic’s goal coming just over the time added on number; anyone who dared make a song and dance out of that would need to explain why Tavernier’s team got awarded a spot kick in additional time the other week … Mackay has picked the wrong thing to moan about.
Brendan Rodgers has not.
He’s right and everyone knows he’s right. Those officials owe us an explanation for that first goal they chopped off, and it’s not even worth bothering to discuss the second one and that’s not a mistake and only has one explanation.
Ange never would have mentioned those incidents. He did things differently. Rodgers has been here before and he has been watching from afar and knows this stinks. He’s not going to hold his tongue when he thinks an injustice has been done.
Well done Brendan! Pity the board dont ask similar questions. Its beyond farcical now and is just about pushing me to stop watching this crap!

That’s the problem, I watched that fucking thug’s assault on Yang and I found myself thinkin, ‘that seems a bit off, they’ll give us grief for being awarded an obvious penalty. I would rather we all stay on the park than we don’t get an evening penalty. This probably doesn’t make sense and that’s cos I’ve been mainlining whisky for… Well, far too feckin long anyway! Where was I? Can’t be arsed, fuck the Huns!
Drugs are bad, m’k?
Keep speaking out Brendan, though mibbies stepping it up a wee bit more in the absence of the quiet board members would increase the focus. Imo that calm mild approach to calling it out I think has a greater impact than that a raving shouter.
The board seem content in their silence as long as we keep winning not to rock the board and maybe there’s wisdom to it so why wait until the shite hits fan? Too late then I’d say but it might well be that they think the authorities power and ultimately decision makers would up the anti even more against us and in truth I believe they could. A statement from the Celtic board now though would be much appreciated. HH

As bad as those decisions were, not a mention of the shirt pulls on oh, and carter vickers! Identical to the goldson one. Corrupt!!!
