Celtic is going after their third title in a row in the Scottish Premier League and they have a good chance of winning it. They are 5 matches away from this glory, but doing the final jump could be the hardest thing they did this season.

Apart from the final matches of the season, Celtic’s mind is partially in the summer transfer window. It would be foolish not to, as all other top clubs are evaluating which players to sign. Because of that, Celtic is probably going to begin the transfer window by purchasing their loanee, Adam Idah.

How Much Would Celtic Need to Pay to Keep Adam Idah?

Adam Idah signed for Celtic on a loan deal from Norwich at the end of the 2024 winter transfer window. This proved to be an amazing signing, as this Irish striker scored 7 goals and assisted 2 times in 10 matches. And there are 5 more matches until the end of the season for him to show his potential.

These are amazing stats considering the fact that he has been part of Celtic for less than 3 months. We must also mention that he scored the third goal in the last Glasgow Derby at Ibrox. But, his team was unlucky at the end, as the home team managed to level up in the very last minutes of the match.

When Celtic signed Idah, many were sceptical about his goal-scoring abilities, as he didn’t score many goals in the past. But, he proved everyone wrong right from the start. It’s fair to say that he gained their trust rather quickly.

It’s fair to say that Idah’s performances so far please everyone at the Scottish club.

But, it also goes in favour of the bettors that were backing Celtic to win the Scottish Premier League from the beginning. Fans are even applying for betting promotions like the Betfred sign up offer so they can bet a little extra on Celtic.

Because of Idah’s recent form, many speculations started coming out suggesting that the club consider making his transfer permanent this summer. But, the down part is the fact that there isn’t an option to buy in the loan deal.

As a result, many believe that Celtic would need to pay a lot of money to keep this player. However, recent reports indicate that the club must pay around £3 million to sign Idah permanently.

Norwich, on the other hand, has a similar deal with Bologna for their loanee Sydney van Hooijdonk. They signed the Dutch striker as a replacement for Idah. Now, they have a chance to keep him with the money from Idah’s transfer.

Who Is Adam Idah?

Adam Idah is an Irish striker who is currently under contract with Norwich but plays on loan at Celtic. This 23-year-old player joined Norwich as a teenager from College Corinthians, a Munster Senior League club.

He made his debut in season 2019/20 at the age of 18. At that time, Norwich was playing in the English Premier League but failed to stay out of the relegation zone.

Idah played a total of 115 matches for Norwich up until the half-season of 2023/24. During this period, he scored 17 goals and managed to assist 4 times. This is a very bad goal-scoring record for any striker, which is why so many Celtic were sceptical at first.

However, when playing for Norwich U21 and U18, he was pretty decent. In both teams, he scored a total of 24 goals in 53 matches. He also assisted 7 times for the U21 team.

As for international football, Idah was part of the Irish National Football teams from U15 up to the senior squad. He recorded 64 appearances for the youth Irish National teams scoring a total of 34 goals. His best performances were for the Irish U17 National team where he scored 20 goals in 28 matches.

Idah made his senior debut for his country in 2020 but didn’t score his first goal until 2023. He currently has a total of 23 appearances for Ireland while scoring only 3 goals. Let’s wait and see if his good form will continue in the international competitions.
