Possibly your best ever piece of work. Lawwell imo controls everything, it’s why I think Rodgers will leave again in the not very far future.

Excellent synopsis James. The writing should be on the wall for Lawwell but sadly he will survive again. I watched the Athletico game(live in Madrid) with my family and finally realised we are destined to be bottom feeders until our club is run differently. The CL must be our target. A few years if success and Athletico have a massive new stadium, full houses, parking, and full team investment every year. That’s what we are competing against.

    Excellent piece.

Just another divisive anti-Lawwell narrative. The window still has a month to go.. tell us after then if it has been ‘atrocious’. Get a life and stop banging on about supposed Board agendas at one of the most successfully-run clubs in world football.

    Hi Jame

I think your service to Celtic football club -especially it’s fans is a more important one than you might have had with the British State! So answer me this is this -all this is a clear strategy – this is not the just the activity and the complacent – but more significant – are the books being tidied up with a view to putting Celtic up for sale – because it hall as the hallmarks of corporate boardroom behaviour? Because the share value for the club is probably at it peak with the current limited investment strategy – all bigger gains could be made by investing for the long term to become a tough European opponent – but the board dont want that risk ? And would a takeover benefit the club?

Great article James, McKay was a breath of fresh air which didn’t last long, he wanted to do business in the proper manner but the board took fright and he was gone. As long as there is a Lawell anywhere near our board it will be always this.

  • Tom Wilson says:

To many coincidences there, herr Lawwell definitely is the bad influence that he portrays himself to be.

  • JimBhoy says:

Some fantastic detail James. I wonder how many regulars to this site haven’t joined in on a ‘Lawell Lawell GTF’ at a game. We can’t all be wrong.

Brendan has named 2 more he knows the score.

Unfortunately domestic success will hide any downsizing. Europe is seen as a luxury competition.

    Celtic – No ambition.

    Superb article.

Celtic have no ‘serious’ or sustained ambition beyond tinpot Scottish Football.
Sadly, a lot of fans would appear happy with this and Season Tickets will continue to sell out.

  • Jim Duffy says:

Another very good post James, but once more what’s the point of it , where do we go from here, how do we get rid of liewell and desmond,we just go round in circles and until the fans decide to take strong action ,which you yourself said won’t happen we’re stuck with this board. The ST money has all been gathered in ,the CL packages will have been bought, all the strips and merchandise are still being snapped up so the board hold all the aces, and so it goes round and round again,a total withdrawal of Celtic supporters cash is the only thing that this board would heed because banners, chants ,tifos achieve nothing.
