The Record Podcast On Celtic’s Ticket Standoff Was Absolute Pig Ignorant Rubbish.

Late last night, someone drew my attention to The Daily Record podcast—or whatever it is you want to call it—featuring Keith Jackson and a panel discussing the Celtic-Ibrox ticket situation.

Of course, there wasn’t a single word of sense, not a single fact, not even a single acknowledgement of Celtic’s statement, Brendan Rodgers’ comments—nothing. Just more nonsensical talk about how both sides need to get serious, come to the table, and reaching an agreement.

To me, it was like sitting in a pub, watching two drunken halfwits—clueless, shaven-headed, beer-bellied, low-IQ morons—having a discussion about a subject vastly too complicated for their limited intellects. I know there are some people who will claim, and not without good cause, that this was just people with bias and an agenda. But you know what? I think that gives them more credit and respect than the idiotic words that came out of their mouths deserved.

It seems to me that these people really are that stupid. They really are this uncomprehending of something so basic and simple.

As Brendan Rodgers said on Friday, this is not something that requires complex understanding. And yet they seem to have enormous difficulty comprehending it.

Once again, the talk is all about how the two sides need to get around the table, apparently in complete ignorance of the fact that this has already happened—that both sides have already been around the table. The two sides had already reached an agreement. One side has kept that agreement, and the other side has broken it.

Now, let me tell you something. At some point in the last couple of weeks, my right arm started to really, really hurt, and now I’ve got pins and needles in my right hand. It’s some kind of trapped nerve, and I’m trying to rest that arm. It’s difficult, especially when this is what I do for a living—when you’re sat in front of a computer, using your mouse and typing on the keyboard, it’s incredibly hard if you can’t use one of your arms.

And the reason I’m telling that story? Because I’m working on this article by speaking into Google Docs’ voice-to-text system. Except instead of talking into this microphone, I am raging into this microphone instead. I’m shouting into it and trying not to launch into a torrent of expletives. And I’m only glad there’s no video footage or audio of this because honestly, I’m about as pissed off as I’ve been in a long time listening to that podcast.

So no, I’m not going to give them the alibi of being biased. I’m not going to give them the excuse that these are people just so caught up in their own narrow-minded view that they’ve somehow missed the woods for the trees.

No, these people are just stone stupid. So dumb that they give the proverbial box of rocks a bad name.

Keith Jackson, as I’ve said before, is a guy so intellectually enfeebled that every article screams a lack of formal education. Almost everyone else who works in that sports department has mastered only one skill: how to copy and paste.

And I’m comforted by knowing that one day, AI will take their jobs.

If AI is filling in for them in the meantime, we’ll be able to tell almost immediately because the quality of the output in that newspaper of theirs will go up by about 80%. It will be absolutely unmistakable. I only wish you could get a computer to discuss this matter on a podcast because it would surely comprehend this in a millisecond and would not so readily drag the whole publication through the swamp of Keith Jackson’s feeble mind.

Anybody at this point who thinks that both clubs are to blame—anyone at this point pushing the narrative that both clubs are to blame—is only embarrassing themselves.

That’s fair enough if you’re the average poster on the dumbest Ibrox fan site. But if you work for a national title, that should be reason enough for whoever pays your wages to pull you aside and say, “You’re too stupid to work here.”

Celtic sites have published pictures and documentation proving that Celtic has done the appropriate work here. We’ve kept our part of the agreement. Those same sites can demonstrate clearly that Ibrox hasn’t bothered to even start. This is not complicated. This is very simple. Only people who make pond life seem intelligent could fail to get this.

We probably shouldn’t be surprised that Keith Jackson is one of those people.

But for someone who used to enjoy reading certain sports journalists in Scotland, like Alan Davidson and Hugh McIlvanney, men of intellect who could write perceptively and speak knowledgeably, it makes me sad that standards have plummeted to where the newsrooms are filled with people like these—people so dense that light bends around them.

People whose publications would be better off if they smashed their computers with a hammer and never wrote another word for them again.

That may be one of the worst things that I have subjected my hearing to in a long, long time.

This suggestion that Celtic should “act responsibly” here—when we’re the ones who have been— even to the extent that we bend over and give Ibrox tickets with no assurance that we will get the same is so ridiculous as to be offensive.

If Celtic wants to respond to this further, then I suggest that the hacks at the Daily Record and Sunday Mail should be made from now on to pay for their tickets to Celtic Park just like everybody else. Because these people are not journalists, and we should stop treating them as if they were members of that once-revered profession.

Never mind making them pay for a ticket, they should have been banned long ago. Do it now Celtic

  • Kevan McKeown says:

Don’t even charge them, ban them altogether. Our directors should refuse these clowns into our ground, until they start showin some valid and constructive media contribution. And THAT would suit us perfectly, because it’s somethin these ibrox puppet, halfwits are incapable of.

The main one running his mouth and muddying the water was that wee Hun Gordon on Clyde ssb

  • Roonsa says:

James. I am going to remind you of an (excellent) article you wrote some time ago about why the Scottish media is biased. Why they deliberately don’t want to upset the majority of people who read their odious claptrap.

The majority? Yes, the majority. You explained this by telling us about Hugh Adam. A former director and investor in Rangers FC 1872 – 2012. According to you (which I backed up by investigating further), Mr Adam (Jesus, I sound like one of that lot now lolz), admitted that Celtic are a club with a worldwide appeal whereas his own team were not. He said this at a time when Rangers threw out their fishing net in their hour of need when the ship was sinking. There was nobody. There was no Fegus McCann. Only homegrown jokers like St Craig who gave us all the best laughs of our lives.

It (your article) was beautifully researched and condensed into a blog style article. It was put together in a fashion that I could only dream of achieving. It was such an interesting piece that I think it is a shame you don’t refer back to it more often, if you do at all.

The point being: There is a reason we have idiots like Jackson who deliberately don’t get it. He works for a media outlet that is aiming their bile at a country which is, let’s face it, full of huns. We are the guests. We are the minority. There is no shame in admitting that. Celtic’s popularity transcends the small minded demographic targeted by a parochial pamphlet that had its day long, long ago.

      Brilliant comment Roonsa.

It’s a pity that a significant part of our support still financially contributes to the survival of the SMSM when it is patently obvious that the ‘ Medjia’ ’ is on it’s deathbed and it’s anti-Celtic / Irish / Kafflik rants, like it’s anti Independence/
pro Union propaganda, are merely the echoes of the death rattles of a corrupt Feudal UK and Monarchy.

Keeping the knuckle draggers onside helps to maintain the illusion of Supremacy, the ‘wee arra peeper’ nonsense.
This is one of the main reasons why the Scottish Press and Broadcasters fell, dutifully and almost immediately, behind the Survival Myth and Victim Lie. Pressures from ‘on high’ to keep the lid firmly closed.

The nonsense promulgated by a demographic that is bye and large uneducated, unemployed and unemployable and who, to validate their miserable existence have to resort to othering of other minorities in Society. All of this is propped up by the Mainstream Media. A SMSM who were remarkably subdued over the last few weeks when the ‘Far Right Riots’ were engulfing Engerlund and Norn Arne ( Quelle Surprise).

I just can’t get my head around the concept of Celtic fans continuing to support financially a biased and bigoted Print Media and National Broadcaster ( another Nation’s as well). It’s akin to inviting someone into your home and then paying them to abuse and denigrate you and your family’s way of life, Religious beliefs, Cultual mores and Political persuasions. To add insult to injury, you then say, as you hand over your hard earned money, “ same time tomorrow then”. Unbelievable.

  • Clachnacuddin and the Hoops says:

And yet this coming week they’ll be ‘several’ weirdo type Celtic supporters who will go out and purchase it for themselves…

I say ‘weirdo type’ as surely that’s a fair and apt description of any Celtic minded person who would wilfully and financially aid such an utter spiteful and hateful anti Celtic organisation…

The insane situation is that the highly illiterate brood that they try to curry favour with (Sevco Huns) detest them even more than we do but obviously still keep them on life support through vast purchase over the counters…

Not to worry let us all get the champagne on ice as their demise (The Daily Record) is coming to a place near us very very soon…

I’m not sure about any other Celtic supporter but it won’t be a day too soon for this one for certain !

  • Johno67 says:

Anybody at this point who thinks that both clubs are to blame—anyone at this point pushing the narrative that both clubs are to blame—is only embarrassing themselves.

On Clyde SSB yesterday Mark Wilson was the lone voice suggesting that “Celtic should be big enough to make the gesture”, and let away fans in!!! All other pundits agreed with our stance.

  • Sara Haughian says:

SMSM are pathetic! They’re not even covering the st Johnstone’s SLO, a lone woman being attacked and a drum being stolen. If that were the GB or the Bhoys it would be all over the MSM. I have been thoroughly appalled by them for years and nothing surprises me with how low they are.

  • JimBhoy says:

Talking of AI mate and it’s a big part of my business I was actually going to ask if you had found it with your recent incredible articles. AI is only as good as the person who uses it and data sources to learn…

I don’t think Keith and co are dumb I just think they are clinging onto credibility and jobs and to do that they need to stick to a narrative.

There was more than enough evidence presented this week to show who is at fault. If you care to go round that to bash 2 clubs and not point fingers at the one club failing it’s obligations then there’s the narrative.

Playing to a demographic who need to hear this kind of nonsense. Fake news central that’s anything that comes out of the DR these days. Proper journos who worked for this paper will be turning in their grave at how it has ended up and it will end soon.

    • James Forrest says:

AI is definitely interesting. I can see me using it with research on certain subjects; I believe there was a learning cut-off point of November 2023?

So it might be good for quickie info. But it’ll never capture the way a good writer constructs an argument 🙂 But it’ll put hacks like Jackson out of business.

      • JimBhoy says:

Well you do not need it that’s for sure. All my goals and presentation materials are run thru chatGPT great tool for a man who doesn’t have your writing and analytics talent. All the best. Thanks for reply HH.

  • Birdman says:

Calling them stupid only masks the fact that their comments and reflections, on podcast or paper, are as a result of sectarian hatred. They are stupid because they believe in and live that bigoted lifestyle but it takes a little bit of something to ignore the obvious reality of the facts and present it as truth, their targeted bigoted sectarian version of the truth. Why we let them into our ground, our little bit of paradise and sanctity I’ll never know or understand. Ban them. UTTER FILTH.
Talking of action I’m hoping for a few fan reminders to the board of our expectations for the team over the next couple of weeks. Good luck today bhoys against their foot soldiers in black. The cream will rise to the top.

  • Indy says:

Jelly n ice cream when rangers died.
Jelly n ice cream when the tabloids die…tick…tock…

  • Frodshambhoy says:

Is it possible they had enough brains between them to ignore the truth. In that way they would’ve made sure they didn’t upset der hun.
As we know sevco fans and the truth don’t mix well.

  • harold shand says:

The next time Stuart Cosgove’s on the radio he should call the officials on yesterdays game cheats

As this was done last Tuesday night and it was deemed totally acceptable

  • Valentine's day massacre says:

The Record even filmed the podcast for posterity…including Inaction Jackson’s biggest red face of the year so far . The chief sports scoop at the rag not knowing that there are only 2 games to play until the first Glasgow derby of the new season ..having to be corrected by Mr theRangers ..wee Scotty McDermott! The look of embarrassment on Inaction’s boat ,is priceless ,then he admits “ok,I’ll take that back then” before going into full blown Elmer Fudd beetroot face …one for the archives .. hiiccupp! Ps ,Wee Scotty also looked rather melancholy about his life’s most important cause to exist and it’s neverending malaise ….how sad ….

  • Davy-G says:

It should be pointed out to these people that sevco could not even guarantee the safety of ONE tv pundit never mind 2800 supporters

  • Marco says:

Celtic should ban these idiotic rags from Celtic Park and don’t provide any interviews or comments to them.
As long as we’re winning league titles let them write what they want.
    We don’t need them !
They look for a negative story in everything Celtic… paid too much for Idah etc,…we’re constantly missing out on targets we weren’t even looking at, pro “The Rangers” bullshit !
I really hope there are no Celtic fans out there buying these rags. Don’t buy them and they’ll go under just like their 2012 heroes.
