The Kuhn links to England are predictable claptrap. Celtic will not lose focus over them.

The recent media stir about Nicholas Kuhn is something most of us saw coming. A player of his calibre, performing as brilliantly as he has, is bound to attract speculation. The story linking him with a move away from Celtic is exactly what you’d expect from a media constantly looking to cast a shadow over our best players and hint at an exodus.

To set the record straight, this story only surfaced in Germany, and even there, the reaction has been blown out of proportion. There’s no credible evidence supporting any of these claims, which are that English clubs have expressed interest.

They can express what they want. Even if the basic story is true, it’s a non-issue.

Kuhn himself is clearly happy at Celtic. He’s thriving, he’s focused, and the team is in top form. You only need to watch him play to see that he’s fully committed; he’s performing superbly on our right-hand side, bringing drive, skill, and confidence to the pitch week after week.

This young man is only going to get better, and he’s showing that every day. The laughable £10 million price tag being tossed around isn’t even close to what he’s worth. It’s insulting, frankly, and anyone who genuinely believes Celtic would settle for such a low figure is living in a fantasy. We’ve seen this kind of lazy speculation before, and it never holds up under scrutiny.

If Kuhn continues on this trajectory, there’s no doubt he could command a fee double that amount—or even more. The way he’s playing right now, he’s positioning himself as one of the hottest talents on this island. So, while this is a minor distraction, it’s hardly cause for concern. We’ve seen these kinds of rumours countless times before, and even in the worst case scenario, an enormous transfer fee would most probably allow us to sign two or three players and further enhance this side.

In the bigger picture, it’s worth taking a moment to acknowledge that Celtic is excelling at talent spotting and development. Our recent transfer record is testament to that; we’re identifying top prospects, bringing them into the club, nurturing their skills, and setting them up to shine. Even in the much criticised Mark Lawwell period, we still found a genuine gem in Johnston.

Now, I know there are some in the media, as well as a few supporters across the city, who believe they can mimic this strategy. They are trying to copy our transfer policy without understanding the intricacies behind it.

They don’t realise that it takes more than just signing young players; it requires a top-notch scouting network, a strong development system, and, crucially, the right culture and coaching. Celtic’s success in this area is anything but accidental, and it’s not something that can be replicated overnight, and it certainly cannot be replicated over there under that staff.

At this point, no one at Celtic Park is thinking about where Kuhn might go next.

The only focus is on what he does here and now, especially as we prepare for our clash against RB Leipzig and the challenging fixtures ahead. With so many big games coming up, he’ll have plenty of opportunities to shine on the European stage and domestically. If English clubs are genuinely interested, they’ll need to get serious about offering a realistic fee—and even then, a transfer would only be on our terms, and only if the player himself is keen.

In stark contrast to the club across the city, we offer young players like Kuhn something substantial. Celtic is a club that consistently wins trophies, competes in Europe, and provides a platform for ambitious players to reach new heights.

Even with our Champions League Group Stage qualification a more complicated task from next season, we should still anticipate making it and prepare according. As group-stage regulars, with opportunities growing as UEFA’s tournaments expand, a young player aiming to test himself against the best can clearly see that Celtic offers an unparalleled pathway.

This latest rumour doesn’t rattle me one bit, though the timing is undoubtedly irritating—coming as it does right on the eve of a big game.

It’s predictable, really, almost like clockwork. But Brendan Rodgers and the rest of the Celtic squad will brush it aside and stay focused on the match ahead. These little attempts to unsettle us haven’t worked before, and they won’t start now.

At the end of the day, Kuhn is in the best place he can be, and he knows it. Celtic offers him everything he needs to thrive: a competitive environment, top-notch coaching, and an ever-growing platform on the European stage.

This story is just another media distraction, but with a team like ours, we’re well-practised at ignoring the noise and concentrating on what matters.

Thank you and well done for rubbishing this shite about Kuhn.

Compare and contrast Video Celts who appears quite happy to promote this anti Celtic garbage. Disgraceful from a so called Celtic supporter. who deleted my post when I stated this on the site.

With friends like him, we don’t need enemies.

To protect ourselves in future hopefully celtic has already put a substantial buy out clause in his contract, and any future players when signing.

What impresses me most about Kuhn is his consistency. He undoubtedly has all the attributes of a top class winger, especially at Celtic where great wingers are part of the DNA. However the usual drawback with wingers can be inconsistency. Kuhn just seems able to turn it on every week which is amazing but also could be the thing which draws interest towards him. Celtic don’t need to sell though and certainly not in January.
