The team we’re playing tonight has shown itself to be a particularly mouthy lot. First, there were comments about practising goal celebrations.

Then, one player claimed the crowd wouldn’t faze them. Now another has dismissed us outright, saying we’re the easiest game they’ll face in the group. It’s outrageous behaviour, showing a complete lack of respect, and frankly, it’s astonishing.

These players clearly have no idea what they’re about to walk into. They don’t know how loud Celtic Park is going to be or how intense the atmosphere will get. More importantly, they seem clueless about how tough an opponent we’ll be.

Their casual dismissal of this match as a formality borders on contempt. It’s extraordinary, really—but also motivational. I hope our players feel the same way because the best response to this kind of arrogant nonsense is to play them off the park.

Brendan Rodgers will be well aware of the trash-talking, and you can be sure the players are too. I expect they’ll be fired up, ready to silence this lot decisively.

What makes this even more galling is that, no matter where we’ve gone in Europe or who we’ve faced, Celtic have always treated our opponents with respect.

When Young Boys visit Celtic Park next, we’ll show them the same courtesy, even though they currently sit bottom of the group without a single point.

That’s what a proper football club does. You don’t talk big before a ball is kicked because if you lose, you’re left looking foolish. That’s the fate I want for this team tonight: to leave Glasgow humbled, embarrassed, and with their tails firmly between their legs.

This lot should know better. If they’ve done their homework on Celtic, they’ll know we’re far from a one-dimensional side. We’ve got danger men all over the pitch and several ways to unlock defences. We don’t just rely on one or two players; we’re versatile, unpredictable, and dangerous from all areas. Their arrogance is baffling and, frankly, disrespectful in the extreme.

Maybe it’s a Belgian thing? Are Belgians known for arrogance? I’m not sure.

The clown across the city certainly fits the bill, with his delusions of grandeur leading to his latest spectacular collapse. His attitude filters through his whole club and is part of the reason they’re in the state they’re in. But is this a national trait? Perhaps not. Maybe these players are outliers, but whatever the case, they’re certainly making fools of themselves.

I don’t just want us to win tonight—I want us to stomp them. I want to hand out a proper thrashing, the sort that leaves them limping out of Celtic Park with shattered confidence and bruised egos.

For all their talk about injuries and supposed setbacks, we haven’t underestimated them, and we won’t. I trust Celtic to be professional in their approach. But I think this team is going to deeply regret not showing us the same respect and courtesy.

They’re about to get a hard lesson in why you never dismiss Celtic Park or the team that plays there.

A dangerous team, an intriguing game and probably happy as a draws probably a fair result…

Another game nearer a play off place, something I’d have happily grabbed this summer !

We were very poor tonight, our starting midfield 3 contributed very little. I’m not saying there was no effort, just the quality we can produce wasn’t on show.
The goal we conceded was a calamity, so unlike CCV, I can’t remember his last mistake that led to a goal.
They were very good on the counter up to a point, how they scored 7 at the weekend is a mystery based on tonight’s poor finishing.
Overall while it’s always disappointing to drop points at home I don’t think we did enough to win the game.
The bigger picture for me is the worrying trend of our first half performances. Too many times this season we’ve failed to score in the first half, and in some matches domestically we’ve been very fortunate not to fall behind,it’s something Brendan needs to address.
With all that being said we have only lost 2 matches in 2024, one a travesty of a result against Hearts and in Dortmund, so the players and coaching staff deserve credit for what they have achieved and if that streak continues we will overtake the LIE end the year comfortably ahead in the league and have all but assured KO CL football. I was a bit disappointed tonight, Brugges played well but we were so poor in the first half. We were waiting instead of being fired up. 2nd half was much better but I think the crowd took this lightly as well, the atmosphere, the attitude and the effort wasn’t there at the start. We can’t take anything for granted in this competition, it’s not unthinkable that we could lose all our remaining games. I don’t think that will happen but we need to be at our best for EVERY game in this tournament.

We were very passive in our play last night and, arrogant or not, Brugge were by far the better side in both halves. They controlled the first half totally making us look very ordinary. We upped our game in the 2nd half and started putting pressure on them which forced them to defend, and they did that very well. Our midfield let us down and Engels was once again totally ineffective, it’s time for him to be replaced by Bernardo permanently, he puts in much more effort. However, at the end of the day we have got to be satisfied with the draw.
