Every game we play right now feels like a big game.
Momentum is everything, and that’s what made the defeat at Ibrox so frustrating. It wasn’t just the loss—it prevented us from getting back the momentum we’d built up, which was so, so good.
Every match since has been about re-establishing that momentum. Thankfully, we’re on a solid run of wins, and tonight’s game is crucial—not just for maintaining our lead but for keeping that momentum alive.
I’ve been thinking a lot about the Ibrox defeat and why it happened.
The more I reflect on it, the more convinced I am that the groundwork for that result was laid earlier. Dundee United broke our momentum. That’s what set the tone. Going into the Ibrox game, we knew we weren’t playing as well as we had been, and I think that played on the players’ minds. Dundee United, not the Ibrox club, were the ones who broke our momentum and made us question ourselves. It also showed others how to stop the Celtic juggernaut.
Most important, I think; it showed that Celtic juggernaut could be stopped.
That’s why getting back to winning ways is so vital, even in games that might not seem critical with a 15-point lead.
Momentum changes everything. When a team has momentum and looks unstoppable, opponents fear them. It shifts how teams approach games against you. Lose that aura, and suddenly the dynamic changes. That’s why it’s so important to get back on track immediately and start building again.
One of the issues that’s haunted the Ibrox club all season is their lack of momentum, especially away from home. Teams don’t fear them on their travels. At Ibrox, they’ve managed to build some momentum, but it won’t last forever. Eventually, teams will figure them out there too, and when that happens, the wheels will really come off.
Meanwhile, we’re finding form again. We’re rebuilding momentum and getting back up to full steam. The performances haven’t always been perfect, but they don’t need to be. Right now, it’s the results that matter. Results build momentum, not necessarily performances. Teams look at form guides and see whether a side is in good shape or not. Right now, we’re looking formidable again.
Consider this: in the last three games, we’ve scored nine goals. If you exclude the Ibrox game, we’ve scored 17 in the last five games we’ve won, averaging three goals per game. That’s remarkable. That’s title-winning form. It’s reminiscent of the run we went on towards the end of last season to clinch the league.
Tonight would make it four wins in a row.
Win the next one, and it’s five. That’s already more consecutive league wins than the Ibrox club has managed all season—a statistic worth noting. Here’s another: we’ve twice gone on seven-game winning streaks in the league this season. Tonight is game four. Game five is at home against Dundee. Then it’s away to Motherwell, home to Dundee United, and away to Hibs. Is there any reason to think we can’t win those games?
We’ll take nothing for granted, of course, but if we do win them and go eight in a row, that’s real momentum. By then, we’d be deep in title-winning territory. After that, there are only six games left before the split, with four of them—including the visit from the Ibrox club—at Celtic Park. If we maintain our 15-point lead going into those final six games, we could be looking at an early April title party.
Nights like tonight are what build towards that. Tight little grounds, tough opposition, and all the while, your rivals have already struggled there. These games are where momentum is forged.
I’m buzzing for tonight, as I am for every game just now.
Every goal will feel like a cup winner because momentum is everything, and we’re putting together a solid run again.
Get the points tonight, and we head into Saturday’s cup game and then Champions League football with the wind in our sails. That Champions League game will be our biggest of 2025 so far, and there’s no better way to prepare than by having momentum firmly on our side.

Sorry James but let’s look to tonight’s game instead of 8 games in a row.
Take each game one at a time.
I do think we will win the league before the last 5 game cut off but this will depend on winning the next match with Rangers and who we sign in this window.
It ain’t ‘Rangers’ that Celtic are due to play on15th March Terry…
Sevco it is though in the eyes of most Celtic supporters !
I really think that the defeat at Ibrox was because we failed to learn the lessons from the League Cup Final. Surprisingly we seemed to be spooked by the same high press they had used in the Final, whereas we improved and played a lot better in the 2nd half at Hampden, we couldn’t seem to respond the same at Ibrox. Celtic then showed the reason they’re Champions, by winning their next 4 games and showing that winning League Titles isn’t just about raising your game once or twice a season, but all about having a strong mentality and winning ratio of over 90% throughout the season.
Should be interesting tussle at Dens Park tonight for sure…
If Dundee adopt a high in your faces press it might be interesting to see how Celtic respond…
Hopefully a good night for the travelling Hoops fans –
C’mon ye Bhoys in Green (n’ White) !
Unfortunately in the second half Dundee did harry and harass Celtic (as of course they should do)…
And unfortunately we didn’t cope !
