Hibernian 1

It was a dazzling afternoon at Paradise as Celtic bounced back from the recent draw with the Ibrox club by hammering Hibernian 3-1.

The game saw the return of Celtic’s incredible goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel, back after a lengthy absence due to injury sustained on international duty. He pulled off a brilliant save in the 20th minute and produced a couple more throughout the game. As I’ve said before, Schmeichel is dazzling; like father, like son.

Sinisalo can consider himself unlucky not to play; the manager has told him that he will play on Wednesday night though. Rodgers is showing his class as a man manager yet again, juggling between these two big talents.

The Hoops started the first half brilliantly, playing some fantastic football but there was an overload of possession but no breakthrough. That gave Hibs their opening. They capitalised on it. Against the run of play? Maybe. But this is what happens when you don’t take your chances, and in that early spell we didn’t.

The first half started a bit slowly, but Celtic dominated the opening 20 minutes. However, they missed several clear chances, and Hibs punished them for it, scoring in the 25th minute.

After Hibs opened the scoring, it seemed to light a fire under Celtic. In the 41st minute, they levelled things up. The brilliant German winger Nicolas Kühn, who proved his creativity throughout the match, smashed in the equaliser. What a goal—dazzling and pure class!

I’ll admit, the start of the match made me a bit fidgety, but after Kühn’s goal I was completely calmed. And less than five minutes later, The Hoops took the lead. This time, Kühn turned provider, floating a superb lofted ball over the Hibs defence for Adam Idah, who slotted it home to make it 2-1.

Another really excellent goal from the big lad.

The Irish forward showed his quality and reminded his critics that he’s more than capable of doing big things—he can absolutely soar.

The second half followed a similar pattern, with Celtic in total control, playing aggressive, attacking football.

I even said out loud: “I can see that hunger in your eyes, my Glasgow Lions—the will to score more and more goals!”

Not long after that, they did just that. In the 58th minute, YAASSSSS—Reo Hatate made it 3-1, and I have to say, his goal was the best of the day. A known box-to-box midfield dynamo, Hatate showed off his intelligence, technical skill, and sharp passing. He was everywhere today—a true hero of the match.

From then on, Celtic played with pure confidence. It was magic to watch. James Forrest came on with 20 minutes to go and nearly made it four right at the end, only to be denied by a superb save from the Hibs keeper. You could feel the crowd at Paradise trying to will that one into the net!

To sum it all up, after the brilliant 3-1 victory over Hibs, the Celtic Lions—the Champions—now look ahead to the final two league matches of the season, away to Aberdeen on Wednesday, 14 May and then St Mirren next weekend.

Following that, they’ll face Aberdeen again at Hampden on 24 May in the Scottish Cup Final, where hopefully they’ll seal a historic Treble. I’ll be there in Glasgow for both the final league game and the Treble party—and I can’t wait.

Fingers firmly crossed for my Glasgow Celtic Bhoys.

Paulina, I am sure many are thinking the same but there was only one pride of Lions that
    graced Celtic Park.
