  1. It will certainly be very interesting to see how this close season unravels.
Rodgers should be fully backed but we all know by now, how this board works.

It shouldn’t have to, bearing in mind the money in the bank and subsequent huge sums paid to HMRC, as a result !

Nevertheless, our board like to sell one of our major assets before releasing substantial sums.
We had to wait for the sale of O’Riley last summer, before we went out and splashed some real cash.

In these days of monumental greed and interference from agents, it is becoming harder to get deals done, but that should not be used as an excuse for tardiness or thriftiness in the market.

We have the money, targets should be identified and we should be so much quicker off the mark.

There is a natural evolution every season, that should refresh, reinvigorate and strengthen our team, and I sincerely hope that the plans to do this, are at an advanced stage.

If BR has his eyes on a strong third season of his tenure, and ultimately planning to extend his contract, then there can be no excuses or mistakes made in this forthcoming window.

Let our SPL rivals see our financial strength, whilst we continue to plan for and hopefully negotiate our passage, into the CL, and yet more European progress.

It’s all positively there for those in charge !

What could possibly go wrong ??

  2. Ah hope he leaves out key players for up there tonight. Don’t want this lot tryin tae put any if our team out the game for a week on Saturday. Common sense needed here.

    1. Yep – Reserves tonight please Brendan…

Wrap Cal-Mac and Daizen in cotton wool for the Cup Final Please !

  3. I can see CCV or Kuhn leaving in the summer. Possibly Hatate also but I hope not. I think there is less chance for Hatate to go because he can be on or off the boil & it’s noticeably different in quality which may put teams off.

I think we can replace CCV or Kuhn reasonably easy compared to some other positions. But we don’t only need to replace them but improve the replacements back ups. Yang & Forrest are our wing back ups just now. I think both are decent, both can do a job but neither are pushing the starter for there spot which is a problem.

Hopefully Rodgers word come to fruition & we get the summer done & dusted early doors to give him a proper pre-season. I doubt that will happen though & we’ll be stuck pulling our hair out as we don’t best prepare for the season ahead.

We should be getting signings in place from the day after the cup final. That’s when our summer begins. The players will be on holiday but Rodgers doesn’t strike me as the kind of guy who can switch off from the job even if he was on some sunny beach in the maldives.

  4. Maeda and Hatate are the biggest assets and if they want to leave for more money like Kyogo they will be sold.
Hopefully Rogers will be able to make some quality signings with the money.
I don’t think he will change the system as every player knows how to play their roles perfectly in a possession based game.

  5. Twice he was asked to give a ringing endorsement that the current squad can step back up in europe and improve on this year twice he failed to give it so i suggest he knows he needs 3.

As for kyogo his agent badly let him down here. Caveat emptor. Perhaps on Rennes but kyogo still had his own DD to complete surely?.

  6. I’ve more confidence in the board backing Brendan than I have in Brendan getting the right players sin the right positions.
Caveat being we don’t off load our better quality players such as Hatate, Daizen, CCV and I hope a resurgent Kuhn
