It has been a tough and frustrating campaign for loyal CelticĀ fans in the season of 2025/26 – managerial changes, a woeful Champions League tilt, boardroom changes led by supporter protests and unrest, but for the more traditional Scottish fan, the Premiership has at least been a three horse race for a change this year.
The last 12 months have been poured over and dissected by everybody in the wider Scottish game but with the post split here and 33 games played, twice returning legendary manager Martin O’Neill has us third in the top flight table, and we are only three points shy of top spot and Derek McInnes’ surprising Heart of Midlothian side.
For Hoops fans the disappointment and frustration from this is obvious and those that took a break from match day betting may have dipped into online gaming and looked intoĀ Richard casino review AustraliaĀ advice as a distraction. For neutrals they will have loved the twists, turns and how tight a race it has been so far this year, but we need to look forward. Even for those Celtic fans enjoying the competition and not running away with the title like normal, the problems at the club are obvious to all now and next season will be huge where the same old mistakes cannot be repeated.
That obviously means getting our moves in the transfer market right and in amongst all of the speculation rumour mill guff that we are again subject to, it seems we could be set for another reunion and following quickly on from Kieran Tierney, it is being reported that Andrew Robertson could be set for a return home.
The 32 year old Scotland skipper and vice Liverpool captain is a very familiar face for everyone, but it feels very unlikely that the 92 capped left back would return to Scotland just yet give he easily has a few more years left in his tank before he considers going full circle before hanging up his professional boots.
All we know for sure right now is that he will be leaving Anfield at the end of the current campaign and that he will have plenty of suitors ready to still pay him the big bucks in order to get him to sign on for a year or two with them. Tottenham Hotspur are the most heavily linked right now, but their potential deal is subject to avoiding the drop this year, but new adventures could await as Italian Serie A side Napoli (Scott McTominay) and Spanish La Liga outfit Atletico Madrid are circling. Financially it is obvious that Celtic cannot compete on that front – but by the same token that would not be the pull for Robertson should he decide to return north of the border.
He was on our books as a fresh faced 15 year old but some bright spark decided that he was too small to progress as a professional and we released him. The full circle would be one pull if a move was to happen, it is also pretty well known that Robertson wants far greater game time in the twilight years of his career and we could naturally offer that – along with European football and everything else that comes with being atĀ Celtic.
It is likely a pull that will win, but probably not when he is 32 years old and likely has two or three years left at the very top levels with the European game.
