We are at a time when the game here has a lot happening in it. That makes it tragic to see some of the rubbish the Scottish media still publishes.
Scottish hacks seem to have an obsession with recycling the views of morons from down south, as though these people have something meaningful to say. Celtic fans, in particular, are sick and tired of reading this endless deluge of nonsense from people like Simon Jordan.
What is it some in the Scottish media love about this guy? What is it about him that is so compelling to them, yet not compelling to literally any of us?
Because he is a clown. He is a joke.
Most of what comes out of his mouth is ignorant rubbish of the purest sort, and his latest comments about Celtic fans, and his latest attempt to understand what we want and how we think, are about as puerile and dumb as anything he has ever said.
Yet the Daily Record cannot wait to inform the world what that is.
That should tell you something about the insight they have of their own. It should tell you something about the imagination level and work ethic of their own journalists when, instead of writing proper stories, instead of going out and finding things worth talking about, they constantly recycle other people’s words.
It is one of the tragic things about the modern media landscape in Scotland. So often, all they are doing is reporting what someone else has said.
If they were reporting what someone semi-intelligent had said, then expanding on the comments or finding a way to recontextualise them, that would be one thing. But so many of the people they choose to quote are fools.
Jordan has described the situation with Celtic fans as a “win-win”. In short, he says that if we win the title, that is a victory and we will celebrate being title winners. But if we lose the title, that is good for us too, because it gives us an excuse to pour what he describes as bile and vitriol against the board.
Honestly, that is Olympic-level stupid. It is incredible to hear someone state something so shallow and ignorant with such confidence.
Not a single Celtic supporter would consider losing this title a win.
Not one. Not a single person.
If he believes that, then he is dumber than we think he is, and that is already pretty damn stupid.
Here is the second part of it, which he has completely failed to understand.
Even in victory, the board of directors is not going to get a clean slate. It is not getting off the hook. Celtic fans do not need the “excuse” of losing this title before continuing the campaign to remove this board.
How can he be in the media and not know this?
That campaign is on hold.
It is not dependent on the result of this league race.
The second this race is over, we are straight back to sack the board.
The outcome of this title race does not have the potential to change anything. It will not determine the mood we are in regarding these people. There will not be bile and vitriol poured against the board. There has not been bile and vitriol poured against them at any time.
It is not bile and vitriol to question how these people have done their jobs.
It is not bile and vitriol to suggest that some of them may be incompetent.
That goes with the territory. If you are in a senior executive position at a club the size of Celtic, you are going to get scrutinised.
The number of people in the English commentariat who have weighed in on this title race in recent days and weeks, while letting garbage pour out of their mouths like sewage from a kinked outflow pipe, is a marvel to me.
Paulina has already written today about Kevin Nolan’s contention that we would not be deserved winners if we get the flag at the end of this campaign. I mean, how stupid is that? How ignorant an opinion is that? How divorced from reality is that?
The media seems to think there is wisdom here. If it did not think there was wisdom in it, it would just ignore it.
There is no wisdom to be had.
These are incredibly ignorant people with opinions based on things they do not properly understand. Simon Jordan has not been right about a single element of the Celtic fan protest. Not one. He does not understand a single thing about Celtic fans.
A win-win situation?
Losing this title would be greeted the same way as winning it?
What is that?
That is not commentary. That is not analysis. That is not even trolling. Trolling is usually a little more intelligent than that.
There is nothing intelligent about those comments. Yet Mark Pirie of the Daily Record thinks it is a news story.
Talker of rubbish talks rubbish. That is man bites dog. That is “it’s raining again in Glasgow.”
That is not a headline. It is not a story. It is not news.
But when you are desperate for clicks, I guess that is the measure of the stuff you produce. The Daily Record has not even bothered to put this lamentable tale behind its paywall, which is pretty revealing in itself.
You would not charge people for this. Not even they would charge people for this. So why bother running it in the first place?

Never heard of this guy…
Just another Celtic hater then I guess…
He’ll be pure pig sick tomorrow then !
The so called “Scottish Media” just love to reprint the garbage spouted from down south, on so many topics, and a large proportion of Scots swallow it hook, line and sinker.
Well I sure as hell ain’t one of them Micmac !
Having an interest in football, nature, and music (listening not playing) means I only watch Sportscene and Springwatch and I’d rather be mowed down by a lorry than buy a Scottish paper for myself !
