  1. Should be doing a roll call of these bastards names and telling them straight that they are no longer welcome at Celtic unless they apologise for their lies

A half assed interview weeks later is shite bag stuff

  2. An absolute leech, only interested in how much money he can get away with.
Not one member of the board has shown they are up for the job.
But what can us mere minions do to change things?
It is time the fans came together and put some serious action in place.
Nothing will change if we don’t.HH

  3. The board cowered in a corner while the mud slinging was going on and the good name of Celtic was being attacked. and their silence only encouraged more Celtic haters to come out of the woodwork and lie their stinking arses off. It was and still is unforgiveable, for mud sticks and no amount of backtracking now will prevent that.

  4. An absolute cretin of a man…we’ve got to turn the heat up on these traitors on the board..coz that’s all they are..a despise every wan ..they are leeches and will not go because they are awe shamless liars

  5. Good article James.

    So what’s happening next?
The not another penny is a damp squid having little affect while season tickets sell out in minutes…..so have the collective got a plan that the mainstream fans will back?

    1. Damp squib is the phrase but your point is valid. I think ‘not another penny’ did have a noticeable effect but the board will never admit that. Granted it had no effect on season ticket sales. The board can’t gamble on that year after year. If there’s no signs of improvement, behind the scenes and on the park, it’ll definitely hurt next year. Lots of fans, I think, are on the edge.

    2. You’re like a dug wae a fkn bone. The collective never encouraged the fans not to renew their season tickets at any point, they only suggested that they delay their payment until the last possible moment. So are you going to change the record please or better still just STFU!

  6. What the fuck else would one expect from a Butchers Apron loving bastard…

No Labour (and thereby dint) Butchers Apron lover will EVER stick up for Celtic…

And yet a big Celtic supporter area like Dumbarton put them in…

DUMBbarton more like for that !

  7. Great article James…

This one (Butchers Apron Brian) spoke…

Where in the fuck was Lucan…

    Apart from wage thieving !

  8. Clach, I hear you, but Wilson did stick up for Celtic. It seems too late to us but for the ‘passing interest’ audience he probably timed it well, it’s on the back of the ‘facts’ from the governing body.
Even though the die hards, like the people on this blog see through it, it’s probably good PR. The softball interviews are better than the silence we’ve become accustomed to

  9. I don’t believe that silence was a tactic. James, you’re right but these representatives of our great club will be judged on this summer. Regardless of what has been achieved over the last however many years. They will feel that they done their job and the trophies are proof. The key stakeholders are unsettled and disgruntled. The board have put out a few fires by hiring O’Niell but we must give this guy the tools, we all trust him with the resources, let’s not expect him to pull a rabbit out the hat again.

  10. Excellent article…BUT…As we know, it’s nothing new. For years there have been. ” incidents” at Ipox…which have gone unchallenged… People, pretending to be journalists, are allowed to write utter nonsense about the Club….but these are also unchallenged….So while this article hits the nail right on the head…It may be the forerunner of many.

  11. The saying lions led by donkeys is apt when comparing the sleekit on Celtics board, they’ll still grab the bonuses though for a league they did everything to FK up .

  12. Brilliant article James, I found myself absorbing your account of Brian Wilson’s statement and appearance more as I read each passing sentence, till I reached around 90% agreement.

The missing 10% comes from being unsure if the board legally had to wait till all the accusations had been officially ruled out as lies, or in Wilson’s words “one by one they’ve been chalked off”.
These issues had been handled by the police, the SFA and finally the SPFL on the day of Wilson’s statement. The club website introduces his statement by saying that’s why he addressed the issues straight after the SPFL announcement.

If you’re rightly complaining about the board’s horrendous lack of communication and supporter engagement, then surely you can’t then 100% turn your guns on the solitary board member who’s actually appeared to address the issues directly to Celtic Supporters on Celtic TV.

His article was published in full in the newspapers and online, including the part where he said this “was all rubbish yet people with axes to grind who couldn’t quite conceal them, made this into a running narrative”. The one person he did call out by name was Police Scotland Chief Constable Jo Farrell, saying she should put her own house in order before criticising Celtic Football Club.

I’ll probably be slaughtered for this post, but are you really saying you would have preferred no response at all to this one on Celtic TV?

    1. What we would prefer Danny is a immediate response every time we are wrongfully attacked and condemned for no proper reason.

  13. Wilson is the typical gutless Unionist politician to his core. Did we really expect anything else?

Nicholson & Wilson, a pair of gutless overpaid parasites who should be run out of our club.

  14. What is needed is the lawyers to write up writs and have them hand delivered to everyone one of the racist bigot liars see you court sue them for defamation and lies hit everyone of them in the pocket from McInnes foulkes English Iain Murray jo farrell and all the rest we will not take there lies and indoctrinated racism anymore.we are Glasgow Celtic HAIL! HAIL!.

  15. Bonnar and Nevin should hold their heads in shame, they jumped in with comments about imagined incidents, and described them as facts on live radio. As for the rest of the Media and Football World they showed with their lies and exaggeration that the anti Celtic and anti Irish sentiment is still very much alive and well in Scotland.
Celtic should have released some kind of statement during that first week, when the over the top criticism was at its height and blatant lies were being told. Then followed up with a stronger statement from Wilson after the enquiries had taken place and the actual facts were known.
The Celtic Board seem to think they are dealing with decent people. They’re not, they’re dealing with unprincipled people who hate our club with a vengeance. Appeasement isn’t good enough when dealing with them. That also goes for mealy mouthed Democratic Politicians appeasing rabble rousing racists with bland statements.
