  1. So first teams Osmand as striker with Kel as back up, Yang on the right wing with James Forrest as back up and Tounetki on the left wing with Balikwisha as back up.
Replacements for Arne and Reo to be The Ox and from the spfl.
£50 million added to the pile from Diazen and Arne sales.
    Ka-ching !

Set your expectation level there and you will be happy as anything else is a bonus.

  2. Let’s keep our fingers and toes crossed for only good things.
But we know the board will waste millions on shite that the manager has no input on and won’t want to use……or maybe Doesn’tturnup Desmond will actually listen to Martin and buy quality over quantity.
    Who knosw

  3. Once again James right on the money in everything you say except one major point.
    “We will not tolerate it”
Of course we will, we do it with everything, every season that our bastard board humiliates us.
Stop singing sack the board like kids in the playground and do something with genuine purpose. Simple.

    1. Like not renewing your season ticket..??…60,000 × average £ 700 ??…Now THAT would work.

  4. “This summer has to be different”. How many years have we said this? The fact of the matter is the board are not going to change. They shafted Martin in January. They’ve shafted Rodgers at least twice. They won’t think twice about doing it again this summer. Araujo, Cvancara, Mvuka, Adamu, Kelechi, Ox, Kasper, Saracchi, Welsh, Inamura, Palma and the Brentford kid all off the wage bill and that’s before the likes of Engels, Maeda, Bernardo and Hatate go. I fully expect Maeda and Engels to both be sold before that qualifier and I’ll be amazed if any of them are replaced with first team ready players. I have no doubt Martin was given assurances, but I believe he was also given the same assurances for January and we all know how that turned out. I just hope he calls them out quickly to put the pressure on them BEFORE the window closes

  5. This time next month Celtic blogs everywhere saying the same thing ..

Where are the new signings ? What is the board been doing since the end of the season ?

    Cert

  6. The transfer window opens a week on Monday and ideally we should be quick off the blocks and be making a swift signing or two. And then I woke up….I won’t hold my breath.

  7. Celtic under the Despot Dermot Desmond is very much similar to Celtic under the Kellys and the Whytes. And though many criticisms can be levied at the Owner and his board of Grey Suited Lackey Yes Men and the CEO in particular one thing they are excellent at ( even World Class?) is selling players. There will always be money coming in. Always players being sold whether they want to be or not! And given the income already, £3.5m estimate for Palma, given Celtics MO of max 20% of income to be spent on replacements that gives MON circa £700,000 to spend!!

  8. I simply cannot trust these bastard old tired grey men…

And with good fuckin reason given their history !

  9. A good article regarding the transfer business James and let’s hope for forward thinking!

I’m honestly not interested in the UCL qualifier. At the moment we dont belong in that competition. The europa league should be a competition we could go far in. We all remember the run to Sevilla, but many forget it only happened because we got pumped out of the UCL by Basel.
If the basket case club can get to the quarters and beyond twice in the last 5 years we can do better. When Bayern Knocked us out in the last seconds some were hailing it as a great campaign. Lets remember Dortmund and Villa played us off the park with a barrowload of goals, the scoreline in both games flattered us and there are a lot better teams than them out there.
Even in Martins first spell when we had great players like Sutton and a world class player in Henrik we never got past the last 32 in UCL.

Yeah its great money but akin to prostituting yourself!

    1. Don’t care about the CL. A humiliating waste of time . Just an opportunity for the board to fleece the fans with overpriced tickets and an understrength team.

    2. Completely agree on the CL front. A bit like the “talent” shows on TV where they pad them out with folks who have zero chance of winning but allows for some extra rounds and some comedy moments before they get to the business end.
I read that Brighton (a team that has never won a major honour but of course play where the money is) has paid £21m for a young forward from Sweden who has played in a sum total of 18 games, with 4 goals and 5 assists. We would have struggled against Villa in the final of the Europa this season but I reckon we would have been competitive against the Germans.

  10. Palma never gave a phuk about Celtic. I remember at the end of one particular shocking result in Europe (forget which) there he was laughing and back-slapping with one of the opposition. Meanwhile I, along with every other Celtic fan, was utterly gutted.
