  1. We tried to sign Mvuka in January, who was responsible for that? O’Neill must not have players forced on him! We need proper players

  2. Of all the things we can complain about with this board, leaving the team underprepared for the CL qualifiers is the biggest problem year after year. We need key business done early but I’m not holding my breath.

  3. I agree that there are many issues with this Board and I also agree that the biggest one is recruitment in preparation for the CL. This constant lack of preparation season after season only serves my suspicion that this Board are not truly interested in succeeding in the CL, but are very comfortable being a big fish in the small pond of the Scottish League. This alone means they are unfit for office and should do the decent thing and leave. DD should also take his son with him because it’s becoming more apparent that he is only here to make money and not to promote Celtic. An ambitious businessman would realise that with Celtic you can be more successful and increase your finances in Europe by investing in the team, but it would appear that DD has reached the limit of his ambitions so it really is time for him and his cohorts to do the right thing and just go.

  4. Good sentiment by Lenny but, but…

He canny be advising about signing players…

    Two fuckin words…

    VASILAS BARKAS !

  5. Apparently Saracchi would only cost about £3mil. Good old Celtic board, don’t want to meet that price….here we go again.

    1. Absolutely ridiculous. That boy is a perfect fit. Guess what? Someone else will get him.

  6. Nicholson and McKay stated at their meeting with The Collective that their goal was European group football every season, (no matter which competition that was) That goal has already been secured as we will drop into group stage football if we fail to win our CL playoff match. It’s the same men doing the deals and holding the purse strings, so why would anything change. We thought they couldn’t possibly let down MO’N in the January window, but look how that turned out. These men believe their ‘strategy’ of low balling teams until they walk away is successful, so why would they change it. This is going to be another clusterfuck of a transfer window. No major signings until Engels and Maeda have brought in the required cash, then last minute signings and loans in the final days/hours of the window. It’s the Nicholson/McKay way!!

  7. Agree with Lennon and yourself James, recruitment is key, every window we say this, and every window we’re disappointed. MON has given this Board one more chance to change tack, this Monday June 15th is the opening of the Window until 5pm the 3rd Sept, no messing around until the 3rd Sept, get the business done before the League starts on the 1st August and the first CL play off game on the 18/19th August.
Surely they must back the veteran manager and his backroom staff, who dug us out of a hole last season.
If they don’t, they will set the seal on being the worst Board in the history of the club.

  8. What are the recruitment team doing all day, every day. Surely they must have files of players regardless of the manager. My hunch is that everything has to go to DD. However, we have spent £5 million on some guys and they are not up to it. We even scouted some of them for lengthy periods. The whole system is a mess and not worthy of our club.

  9. Everything Neil Lennon says is thought through and calculated. He knows how dysfunctional Celtic the business is. How it operates on a whim from the NED De Facto Owner who pulls all the strings and instructs his Old Yes Men in Grey Suits to implement his commands. NL took considerable advantage of this culture and earned a lot of money from it whilst enjoying the lax complacent management from his Superiors who are powerless nodding dogs to the Owner. When you are in with the owner you can do what you like and ignore his Lackeys.
MON has taken the job and is the great white hope. If, like his 2 spells from last season, he accepted the job in a short conversation with no guarantees of anything ( Transfers, out and In, Transfer Budget irrespective of disposals, Coaching Staff, Sports Science etc ) other than a salary to match BR then this will quickly unravel..
