  1. First class article James. Mediocrity is recognised and commended. Our CEO doesn’t do anything to upset the suits so of course this will be ‘rewarded.’ The game continues to drift away from working class punters and some others watch their bank balance grow.

  2. I think many of us had hoped that Nicholson would step down or be removed before the start of the new season as a result of his role in the appointment of Nancy.

Today’s news strongly suggests that Nicholson is remaining at Celtic at least for the coming season. This very disappointing news reminds us that there is no executive accountability at Celtic in respect of the total shitshow that they have inflicted on us since the sale of Kyogo.

  3. or…is it simply the fact that the SPFL board have realised that Nicholson’s sickly subserviance to the Celtic board (DD), can be replicated towards them, with not much in the way of pressure..?

    A fuds a fud, for all that…

  4. I remember a few windows back thinking the media is all over Sevcos business. They are buying this guy and that guy while Celtic are so professional there isn’t any clue as to what the board were up to and suddenly we would have a bunch of new players. Little did we know they weren’t up to anything. I still see the last days of this transfer window being the same as all the others.

  5. As someone pointed out…With this appointment, it looks like he’s here for another year…What a pisser.

  6. Need to remember he has no power , no authority, no voice …..he’s just a place man for Dermot.

Probably has some statutory administrative authority to sign contracts , confirm spends as per Dermott’s wishes as part of the Board’s infrastructure.

    1. He’s a very expensive message boy John…We need someone with a forceful personality.

  7. Probably a move by The SFA knowing that Lucan is as soft as a bag of watery diarrhoea and will fight fuck all on Celtic’s behalf…

Gillespie from Liebrox would massacre him in any power struggle on behalf of Sevco !

  8. “Michael Nicholson is not a popular, successful or widely respected chief executive among Celtic supporters. His presence on Celtic’s own board already insults and offends a significant part of the fan base. Many of us regard him as one of the poorest executive appointments in the modern history of the club.”

Maybe *that’s* the reason for his appointment. And by giving him more to do he becomes even worse at running things at Celtic? Either way, his appointment will not benefit Celtic.

  9. No change to the status quo unfortunately, whilst incompetents like Nicholson remain !
