  1. He has been a very frustrating watch for the last 18 months- consistently losing the ball and putting our defence under pressure but on his dsy he can be superb. Will be sad to see both him and Dazien leave but everyone leaves at some stage
Scored some really important goals for us so thanks to Reo and best of luck

  2. No Celtic fan will ever forget his debut against RFC* under the disco lights. where he was simply outstanding and ripped them to shreds. That was one of the best atmospheres I’ve experienced at CP, the whole place was shaking in a way I’ve never experienced. It was some night. Good luck Reo.

    1. RG
Totally agree. Two outstanding goals, left McGregor for dead. Remains one of my favourite matches. Reo couldn’t believe he was man of the match. Humble as they come. Good luck to him.

  3. I don’t always agree with your posts James but I think you’re spot on with your assessment of Reo. He could be a frustrating player at times but genuinely offer up a piece of magic that turned games. If he leaves, which looks likely, then he should rightly go with our thanks for being such an integral part of a winning Celtic team which provided both him and us of sublime moments and trophies. Despite his flaws, he will be a difficult player to replace.

  4. Reo Hatate, what a player. I like many others will miss you, clever player willing to try and move us forward all the time. The guy at Celtic by numbers did a profile on Hatate about 18 months ago, we had quick online chat and asked why I liked Hatate so much, as his stars didn’t always look great. My answer was simple, Hatate got me out of seat with anticipation, he made me feel like something could happen when he had possession. Hopefully our new arrivals can do the same. Goodbye Reo, and thank you.

    1. Not for the last 18 months or so. Kept passing backwards or giving the ball away with those first-time flicks.

  5. He was here a year too long and we all know that in fact I’d say 2years too long.
The contrast with him strolling about when urgency was being screamed by everyone and the required urgency provided by his incredible countryman was stark.

He is a luxury player that can only function with a team full of players or a defensive system that can quickly rectify his inordinate amount of opposition turnovers.

The Ange zombie Green Brigade tifo night was an absolute classic which Hatate gave us.

We’ll never forget that night so thank you and good luck Reo the hun skelper.

  6. Waste of a jersey for about two years ,highlight was initial impact which lasted about 6 games , fleeting moments. Huffy moody lazy. Mon seen through him quickly and it’s no coincidence he nowhere near our run in 11 .a man down with one good pass every 8 games nowhere near it

  7. Excellent player. Great ability. Disappointment will be, not in the fee he will generate whatever that is, it will be in the destination. He is good enough in a good team to be an excellent player. I worry his next club won’t be the standard he deserves.
Hatate, Maeda, Engels and Nyggren will bring in surely circa £50million minimum? Given Celtics defined ratios income to spend that will give MON £10million to spend? 🙂

  8. On his game a great attacking M/Fielder with skill and imagination, off his game a real negative, who gave the ball away in dangerous areas.
In his first 3 years his contribution to the team was enormous, latterly his form really tailed off.
Good luck to Reo, he’ll go down as a very good Celtic player, and maybe in pastures new he will find his mojo. If he does, some team will find themselves with a right good player.

  9. Like others, I question his attitude in the last couple of years but I am in full agreement that overall he has been an invaluable member of our squad and I wish him further success.
I hated the blue gumshield though 🙂

  10. I think it’s the right time for parting of the ways…

Thanks Rio and best wishes going forward !

  11. On his day he was unstoppable, it’s just a shame that his last few months have not been so good. However, all I can say is thanks for the memories Reo and all the very best to you wherever you may go!

  12. He should only be replaced by a like for like , he should only go when we have a replacement. ! Aye right. How many variations of that have you written? Not gonna happen.

  13. He’s done great stuff for us but he’s been brutal in the last year or two. I don’t know why MON picked him at all.
