  1. Jones has never left the building since the Kelly/White regime, there’s just been different flavours of bacon. The current lot are better at milking the support, that’s the only change.Who benefits from the setup at Celtic Park? Nobody else is going to give Nicholson £17,000. Wilson has been on a sinecure for decades. The others are nonentities. Despot has more than doubled his investment. They’re not suddenly going to find a conscience and sacrifice themselves for the benefit of the club. How to persuade them to do one is beyond me. The Pigs are hoovering up the trough.

  2. Writing, and writing eloquently, about the failings of the Board has its merits…but it won’t change anything….You know I took the big step and gave up my ST on a point of principle…and I genuinley believe that the support need to do the same, as its the only thing that would shake the Board to the core…I also know it won’t happen…So we get what we deserve.

  3. The comparison with Animal Farm is quite apt, particularly regarding the pigs with their snouts in the trough! I’m not so sure that the fans one is correct because in spite of the continual complaining on blogs such as this, the fans do nothing to affect any changes. There are many things that can help such as demos outside the stadium, total fan walk out just after a game has started, picketing on working days outside Parkhead just as a start. But no one seems to want to organise something like this which I believe could be very effective. Unfortunately ill health precludes me from doing this, otherwise I would be doing so .

  4. Perhaps the penny is eventually dropping .
More and more are talking boycotts, actual action rather than meaningless, ineffectual pages and pages of words.
Get it done instantly………..Rome is burning.
    Vive la resistance.
    No more words

  5. How many millions have been squandered on duds? BARKAS, Ajeti, Shved, Balikwisha, etc, etc.
Who carries the can for that? The board are untouchable and at the behest of DD. Dont kid yourself, nothing and I mean nothing happens at Celtic unless ok’d by The self proclaimed owner.
They have a captive audience, football ain’t like any other business, I’f i go to Mark’s & Spencers for shopping and they start to stock inferior products, ill take my business elsewhere. We as generational Celtic supporters can’t do that, Desmond and his cronies know that, we are basically being held to ransom, the fear of loosing the seat, many have had for 10s of years is played like an old violin, if you dont renew, then someone else will take it. It’s corporate black mail and perpetuated by a board of leeches. Fans invest heavily in the club, a season ticket is a huge investment, especially in this day and age yet many renew without question, a loyalty thats played on. Until Desmond releases his clutches on this club, we’ll have this every season.

  6. I cannot see anything that can be done this season, the ST money is banked and accountants are happy. Protests may cause MN to resign but Desmond will just replace him like for like. Desmond does not go to games so protests won’t bother him, only the share price dropping will make him take notice and the current cash reserves should prevent any serious drop. Ross D is obviously being groomed to run the club like a business in the next generation. The ST cash cow has ruined any chance of us changing before the window closes

  7. This is spot on and its been the case for some years now. And yet I still hear fans with the same argument – “We seen what happened over the city”. There is also the dichotomy of many fans wanting the board to spend and then arguing that we shouldnt spend on players! Bowie for one. There are many many others. I genuinely dont know what we can do. Our signing policy was fine when there was little in reserves but its a negligent policy now. And is damaging us. We should be signing players now to improve the team. Not the bank balance. And guess what. A successful team, especially in Europe, will have teams admiring our players? We may get more from them if we have to sell. Also players may want to come here. Do we think players at other teams want to sign for us just now? Other than those who want the money or to use us as a stepping stone? Look at the dross this board has brought it over the years. When was our last Marquee signing? A statement signing? Nope,.me neither.

  8. Aye they think they’ve got us by the short and curlies, and they could be right, but I think yesterday was the first sign that the penny has dropped, and the vast majority of the support have had enough. That wasn’t even an organised boycott, it was the support saying you’ve pushed us too far. We gave them our trust by renewing ST’s, and thought that surely they had learned their lesson, and there wouldn’t be a repeat of the past couple of transfer windows. We were wrong, these people are determined it is their way or no way.
There is no doubt that unless the next few weeks bring a big change in our recruitment policy, the support have had enough. No more pissing around with coloured balls ,oranges etc, the mood is there for dramatic action, no buying of European ticket packages, boycott Scottish Cup games, League Cup games and walkouts during home League games.
Let’s hope there is a dramatic change over the next few weeks, but with Desmond in charge I doubt it, he seems to be a bitter auld guy who hates the Celtic support for having opinions.
