Sarrachi is an open goal. For God’s sake, Celtic, put it in the net.

There is a lot of frustration in Celtic cyberspace right now, and much of it is over transfers. The thing is, some of these deals should be easy to do. One in particular, it makes me mad how obvious and easy to do it is and it hasn’t been done; Marcelo Sarrachi.

Enough talking, Celtic. Action is required now.

Marcelo Sarrachi looks like the open goal in front of us, so why are Celtic not putting the ball into the net? We need a left-back. We know what he brings. We know the profile. We know the qualities. The price tag is negligible.

So why not get it done? Stop standing there admiring the chance like a striker trying to work out whether the empty net is really empty. We wanted to bring him back on loan, which means he is wanted by the club … so what’s the problem here?

What is Celtic up to again?

I mean that seriously. We need new players of high calibre. We need fresh blood. We need the squad strengthened in key areas. We need decisions made on existing players. Maeda could stay, and that would be excellent, but what is Celtic’s answer? Passivity. Sarrachi could be there to be done, and again Celtic appear to be moving like a massive snail dragging a filing cabinet behind it.

Yes our first signing may soon be checking in, but is this club incapable of doing more than one piece of business at a time? Move yer arse, Celtic, and get the deals with the right players done before other clubs steal them away.

Every single summer, Celtic supporters are told to wait. Wait for the right moment. Wait for the dominoes to fall. Wait until the market develops. Wait until this player decides. Wait until that club responds. Wait, wait, wait.

And while we wait, other clubs simply get on with it.

If the reports linking Celtic with Sarrachi carry substance – and they do; we know they do – then I have one question. What exactly are we waiting for?

Celtic need a left-back, not eventually, not after another month of negotiations and not after another round of “monitoring the situation.” We need one now. We need someone with experience, someone who is not afraid of the big occasion, someone who understands pressure and brings energy, aggression and quality.

Sarrachi looks like the kind of player who could offer exactly that. We’ve seen him do it! Without his cross into the box to Maeda there is no second goal which breaks Hearts; that’s his transfer fee right there.

So why are Celtic not putting the ball into the net?

As supporters, we are not asking for miracles. We are asking for competence. We are asking for ambition. We are asking for a football club that behaves like a club desperate to dominate Scotland again and make a proper impact in Europe.

Instead, every transfer window becomes an endless theatre production. Rumours. Speculation. Journalists talking. Agents talking. “Monitoring the situation.” “Keeping tabs.” “Interested.” “Considering.” “Could.” “May.” “Might.”

Honestly, I am sick to death of those words.

You do not build a Champions League squad on maybes. You do not qualify for Europe on “it looks promising.” You do not win football matches because negotiations are progressing positively. You win because footballers actually sign contracts.

That is the only language that matters.

Action. Not conversation.

The longer Celtic spend discussing possibilities, the more likely another club simply walks in, pays the money and walks away with the player. We have seen it happen before. Too many times. It is almost as if Celtic believe every player will patiently wait for us forever.

Football does not work like that. Good players do not remain available indefinitely. Their phones ring. Their agents negotiate. Other clubs move quickly. And suddenly another opportunity disappears while we are still holding another meeting.

We have lived through enough of those summers already.

I do not want another one.

Planning is what elite football clubs do.

Reacting is what poorly run clubs do.

Maybe Sarrachi will stay where he is. Maybe another club will move first. Maybe the rumours amount to nothing. But if Celtic genuinely believe he is the right player, then stop admiring the opportunity from across the room and go and take it. Because football is ruthless. Every hour wasted is another hour for somebody else to make their move.

This club has just sold out another season. Again.

The supporters have delivered, as always. We buy the season tickets. We travel thousands of miles. We fill Celtic Park. We spend fortunes following this football club because Celtic is more than entertainment. It is part of who we are.

Surely it is not unreasonable for supporters to expect the same urgency from those running the club.

Martin O’Neill needs players now.

Not at the end of July. Not after the qualifiers. Not once opportunities have disappeared. Now. Every day together in pre-season matters. Every training session matters. Every tactical drill matters. Every opportunity to build chemistry matters.

You cannot recover lost preparation simply because you eventually sign players. Time is every bit as valuable as money.

So, if Marcelo Sarrachi truly is one of the players Celtic believe can improve this squad, then stop watching. Stop calculating. Stop hesitating. Get the deal done.

Because while Celtic continue talking, another club could be quietly reaching for the pen. And then we will all be left reading another headline explaining how Celtic “came close.”

I am tired of coming close.

I want Celtic to start acting like the biggest club in Scotland. The supporters have already done their job. Now it is time for the club to do theirs.

Enough rumours. Enough maybes. Enough endless waiting.

Move yer arse, Celtic.
