For Christ’s sake, Celtic, what the fuck is wrong with you?
One goal. That was all the Ibrox mob needed. They scored in the 33rd minute and somehow that was enough to walk out of Celtic Park with the points.
Seriously? That’s it? Since when does a team get to do that on our doorstep with hardly a response?
They could have scored more, but when you are playing at home you expect to make and score some chances of your own.
Celtic had chances to respond. We had moments when the whole story of the game could have changed. But being close is not enough. Half-chances are not enough. Possession without turning it into something dangerous is not enough.
And that is what hurts. Not simply that Celtic lost.
Not simply that they lost to the Ibrox mob.
But that they did it at Paradise, in front of our own supporters, and once again so many of the same problems were staring us in the face. I am sitting here with that horrible feeling in my stomach, asking myself the same question:
What happened to my Celtic? Where was the structure? Where was the cooperation? Where was the understanding between players? Where was the response after going behind? Because today I watched a Celtic side that too often looked scattered, disconnected and uncertain. And I am furious.
The thing that frightens me most is not this defeat by itself.
It is the pattern.
Again, we left spaces. Again, the midfield struggled to control the game. Again, players looked unsure about where they should be and what they should be doing. Again, there was too much distance between different parts of the team.
And again, the opposition found those weaknesses and punished us.
How many times do Celtic need to repeat the same mistakes before somebody finally says enough? Because this is no longer one bad performance.
That excuse has gone. We have seen these problems before. We have talked about them before. We have watched Celtic become disorganised before. And yet here we are again.
That is what makes today so worrying.
Champions are not perfect. Champions lose matches. Champions make mistakes. But Champions are supposed to learn. They are supposed to recognise a problem and correct it.
They are supposed to adapt.
Today, Celtic looked like a team still waiting to understand lessons that should already have been learned. And that is not good enough.
I do not expect perfection. Football does not work like that. Sometimes a team can play brilliantly and lose. Sometimes one mistake decides everything. Sometimes luck goes against you. But I do expect organisation. I expect players to understand their roles. I expect them to know who covers when somebody moves forward.
I expect them to know where the next passing option should be. I expect them to know how the team responds when possession is lost.
Too often today, I did not see that.
I saw gaps. I saw hesitation. I saw players receiving the ball with nobody close enough to help them. I saw a team struggling to connect midfield and attack and it did not seem to matter what the coaching staff did to try and fix it.
When you give an opponent space, time and confidence, eventually they are going to use it. They got that space and time over and over again today. That gave them the confidence.
And that makes the defeat even more painful because Celtic were not beaten by some unstoppable footballing force. They were beaten by a team that simply took advantage of the weaknesses presented to them.
We gave them the opportunity. At Celtic Park. At Paradise.
That is the part I cannot get out of my head.
This should be the place where opponents feel uncomfortable from the first whistle. This should be the place where Celtic set the tempo, control the game and force the opposition to react. Instead, I spent too much of today wondering where the real Celtic had gone.
I wanted a response after the goal. I wanted someone to take control of the game. I wanted to see the team become more aggressive, more connected and more dangerous. But it never happened strongly enough.
And that is why I am sitting here tonight with such a heavy heart. Because the problem is no longer simply results. It is that the same weaknesses keep returning.
Tactically? Not good enough. Organisation? Not good enough. Teamwork? Not good enough. Control of the game? Not good enough. The response after going behind? Again, not good enough. And that means questions have to be asked of the coaching staff.
What exactly are Celtic learning from these performances?
Why do the same spaces keep appearing? Why does the midfield keep looking disconnected? Why do players so often appear to be operating individually rather than as one unit? Why does the team struggle to change a game when the original plan is not working? Those are not questions I enjoy asking.
I would much rather be sitting here celebrating.
But I cannot pretend everything is fine when it clearly fucking isn’t.
This is no longer about one bad afternoon.
It is about direction. And right now, Celtic are moving in the wrong one.
That has to change quickly.
The season is not over. There is still time to fix this. There is still time to rebuild confidence, improve the structure and make this team look organised again. But simply hoping that the next game will magically be better is not a plan.
They have to study these performances properly. Look at where the spaces appeared. Look at why the midfield became disconnected. Look at why players were isolated. Look at why Celtic struggled to create anything after going behind.
Then fix it. Because I know Celtic can be better than this. I have seen them be better than this. That is exactly why performances like today hurt so much.
This club has too much quality, too much support and too much history to allow disorganisation and confusion to become normal.
And that is my biggest fear.
Not one defeat. Not one goal. Normalisation. The danger that we start looking at Celtic playing badly and simply shrug because we have seen it before. That cannot happen.
I want my Celtic back. I want the side that looks connected. I want the side that knows what it is trying to do. I want the side that reacts when something goes wrong.
Most of all, I want a Celtic team that looks as though the eleven players on the pitch understand the same plan.
Because today they didn’t. And that is unacceptable.
This was a weak piece of work that failed because the structure was poor. There were flashes. There were moments when the story could have changed. But overall, the organisation was not good enough, the execution was not good enough and the final result tells its own story.
This isn’t even a 3/10. It was a shambles.
We have already shown that we are capable of considerably better. The ability is there, but the structure, organisation and execution are nowhere near the required standard. This team needs to Stop repeating the same mistakes and show that they have actually learned from them. That is what I want from Celtic now.
Learn. Adapt. Fix it. Because one bad performance can happen. But this is a pattern now, and we have to break it before it becomes something much worse. A habit.

It is always easy to have a knee jerk reaction after two successive defeats to your biggest rivals…but we know this is a lot more !
If you lose games after giving everything you possibly can, and the opponent is better, then you accept it a lot more readily !
However, this is a Celtic team that is currently disorganised, dysfunctional and majorly disoriented, to such an extent that even a bang average Sevco team can exploit and dominate us, reasonably easily!!!
For it to happen at CP, and in front of 60000 Celtic fans, is completely unforgivable and unacceptable!
I don’t say that lightly or to jump on the criticism bandwagon.
However, none of us can ignore how poor and ineffective we presently look!!!
We were dreadful today and how we remedy that is probably obvious to most fans …
Unfortunately, we are at the behest of this awful board of ours that continually choose the wrong and negative path for our club, rather than trying to be professional/progressive for once !
Celtic board …Our fans are severely scunnered with you !
You have regressed our club so much with your penny pinching and parsimonious ways, whilst taking advantage of our wonderful fanbase’s faithfulness and generosity!
Please do the honourable thing, move aside and let professionals in to try and take this club to the levels it should be at !!!
Change will come but unfortunately no one can put a timescale on it !
I pray to god that it will happen sooner, rather than later! HH
