  1. The “revelations” about Mir are a smokescreen. Rangers fans would be better off keeping their heads down and assisting the club to root out the half-wits.
Where the waters get clouded though are the reports of the official UEFA observers who actually commended Rangers fans at both ties in question. In defending the allegations Rangers need only cite these same officials. Rangers would be correct to do so because these days it seems that it’s only what you can prove that counts, in which case do UEFA bring in outside observers to discredit their own officials, thereby leaving themselves discredited. And we thought the SFA were muddled.
Another distinct concern for me with UEFA is that British teams are very much on the fringes of the association and do not get a fair crack of the whip. Englands Euro ban after Heysel was a complete travesty given the conduct of the Italian supporters. All across mainland Europe national and club fans of the European elite have behaved disgracefully without any action being taken. Zenit St Petersburg dare not sign a black player and admit this. Nothing is done. Figo gets pelted with pigs heads after signing for Real. Nothing done. Racist chants at virtually all the top grounds in Europe blythely ignored.
To top it all off we have the greatest and most influential players in the world regularly cheating in front of the worlds tv cameras and this man Platini refusing to do the morally and legally correct thing and use tv evidence to stamp out the cheating.

    1. As I said EUFA have targeted R*ngers. No matter the muddy reporting if EUFA are desperate to charge it won’t matter. I agree about Zenit thought the Russian federation seems to take action against them. Maybe that counts?

  2. I looked at the F.A.R.E. website too and can’t really figure out from where their authority derives. They may be endorsed by various associations but their priority is not football as such. They seem to be self proclaimed crusaders against racism in sport who like all quangos seek to expand their sphere of influence, i.e. “unfairness”, “exclusion” “sectarianism”.
It’s a poor reflection on UEFA that they appear to be relying on an outside agency to do their work for them.
I know Celtic fans are enjoying the sideshow with this but there but for the grace of god go most teams in the land. You can be sure that if Celtics loony brigade step out of line they will almost certainly be fired in by those who feel that two wrongs make a right.
On the matter of Zenit, they’re owned by Abramovitch, Russias wealthiest gangster, and their own F.A. is as corrupt as any in Europe.

  3. i for one am extremely proud of any connections celtic fc, its ex players and fans may have with an organisation such as FARE. what a wonderful organisation to be linked to, a group that appears to strive for equality in football and wants rid it of racism, bigotry and sectarianism, they are doing very important work and long may it continue, well done to any tims involved, you are a credit to our club and what we always attempt to stand for.
luckily celtic is one of the fews clubs around that has a strong majority in its support willing to tackle such issues and capable of self policing its fans but if we were to ever we degenerate into a sectarian, racist support i would welcome organisations such as FARE to intervene and do whatever it took to help the good people at celtic eradicate any such vile problems, equality and acceptance of all people no matter their background is something a huge number of us associate with being a celtic fan. once again, well done to any tims involved.
