The Celtic Legends took on Man United Legends in a charity match for Oxfam’s East Africa Famine Appeal. The match raised £300,000 for the appeal.
We all know Celtic’s foundations. We all know that nights like last night have a bloodline back to the East End in 1888. But, it’s always a pleasure being reminded of it when today we spend the majority of our time bothered with material goods and wasting millions of pounds on players that are as loyal as rats.
I’m sure the grins of the PLC board are out-shining anything that the good folk at Oxfam have got at the moment. What magic brand PR and an atmosphere that for them is utopia.
Celtic Park filled with families and no hint of community singing apart from a chant about Shearer being a w@nker, which is true so it can’t offend.
Off course a man called Larsson stole the show. Assorted members of The View, Westlife, a boxer and some bloke who is only famous for banging Jennifer Anniston got the chance of playing for the Hoops. They seemed to love it.
In fact we all seemed to love it.
