  1. I just noticed today that cult Celt Massimo Donati played against the tenants of the aforementioned Stadio Luigi and helped his new side Palermo to a 5-3 victory on his debut against Genoa.

    Palermo up to 8th.

The Holly Goalie got a clean sheet also.

    1. Ha! Nice to see that decent pedantry is alive and well, though having a go at fat fingers small phone syndrome could be classed as ‘offensive’ and ‘discriminatory’ against the disabled in Salmonds Law.

The Holly Goalie is The Holy Goalies transvestite cousin from Warsaw who steps in when Artur is a bit worse for wear after a night out on the Vimto.

      🙂

  2. Jez Lord’ it’s getting a bit tough to follow you at times, I do agree, you make some great points, but sometimes it’s best to just write a stright forward article, that holds my interest.
    Hail Hail

    1. If every thing was straightforward then we couldn’t indulge in the Celtic pastime of going backwards!

      Cheers

  3. That Gypsy, Tramps and Thieves thing is distasteful at best and racist at worst. I’m not easily offended, a lot of things I put down to the rivalry, but this just makes me a bit uneasy. If it was coming from the opposition fans you could half understand, but coming from the actual football club is out of order. It is disrespectful and Celtic should ask that it doesn’t happen again, just out of courtesy. If St Mirren FC has any decency it won’t happen again.

    1. I like a bit of fun in football. Did it bother me overall in the grand scheme of things that the DJ decided to play THAT song (though I do think the only Cher song that St Midden should play is: “If I could turn back time”) ?

      Not one bit.

It’s a lazy stereotype (like the one that states we are all terrorist lovin’ yahoos) and one that I’m happy to indulge right back at them. This is per our rights as FANS. We can become snobby and say yer ground is a shithole, where you stay is a shithole and you eat dogshit sandwiches while being jacked up on the skag.

I can safely say they started it and claim banter.

  4. Why would you think it was OK to highlight an offensive act by an SPL team by being offensive and stereotypical about a working class housing scheme? Do you think no Celtic fans and families live in Ferguslie park? Ferguslie park doesn’t differ that much with many housing schemes across Scotland and the 6 Counties.

    1. So you got what I was trying to do then?

See my reply to Bhoyinlondon for fuller details.

Plus there was no offense caused in my eyes and it’s not an offensive act. He could have been playing that song for the dejected 20 or so Blaugrane Buddies fans left in the ground as the slopped off to take drugs, drink Buckfast and spend their giros.

In FACT I know that some Celtic fans would have indulged in that pastime as well and maybe stay in run down estates not made (in)famous by the BBC yet.

I think we just need to man up and laugh that they haven’t scored a goal against us in nearly 2 years.

Tune in and cop out, maaaaaaaaan 🙂

  6. Enjoyed the second half of your thread well enough…..but..
was a bit perplexed at the first half….
Nat King Cole’s Rambling Rose springs to mind…
Were you hung over on Horlicks …??

    1. I canny work out where half time is. I was on the wine gums and listening to Radio Scotland confused and scared the life out of me. 🙂

But no-one agrees about Big Packie? Or can anyone tell me a game when he was superb?

  7. Pat Bonner,
Season 87-88, he was superb every week! Then he had his back injury/ the pass back rule was changed/ he got older. etc 🙂
I liked how he came for crosses when the game was nearing its end and took the pressure off. Goalies tend to stay on the line more these days.
I too listened to Rad Sco and that was one of the better commentaries but then Beggsy was at his beloved place for a 3pm kick off.
From the highlights I was disappointed with the chances St Mirren had in the second half. Compare with the defending that Hooper faced when he shot wide late on.
I laughed when I heard the Tramps and thieves song because the Bhoys had prevailed. 🙂

  8. One club I would love to see a Bhoycott at. Wouldn’t be long in seeing them appologuise.
Hit them where it hurts in the bank balance.
    StMidden scum.
