Tonight on the discredited radio station Clyde 1, the discredited hack, Derek Johnstone, insulted every person in Scotland who has expressed a concern about the situation at Sevco by categorising us as people who “crawled out from under a rock.”

This shameful, disgraceful, slur comes as pressure grows on the SPFL and the SFA to get their house in order and put sporting integrity front and centre, and demonstrate their commitment to looking after the well-being of the game.

In a further twist, last night Dodgy Dave King issued a remarkable statement from the Ibrox bunker full of veiled threats and invective.

Today, Celtic responded by reminding the governing bodies that their first duty is to the sport and that it’s their job to protect it.

As the temperature rises across Scottish football, as a direct consequence of the continuing ego, arrogance and blatant wrongdoing of the people who inhabit Ibrox Stadium, a lot of people are starting to crack under the pressure.

The media is also trying to divert attention from the two central points here:

1) The EBT scheme has been deemed tax evasion. Rangers were, for ten years, breaking the tax law.

This issue is explosive.

The Scottish football authorities cannot allow a club to have gained sporting advantage for over a decade by virtue of illegal activity.

2) The nonsense – the arrant, utter, complete nonsense – that Sandy Bryson said at the Lord Nimmo Smith inquiry, that because we didn’t know wrongdoing had taken place that it was not actually wrongdoing, this also has to be challenged.

The SFA gave a secret guarantee to Charles Green that there would be no title stripping, before a single piece of evidence had been heard in the Lord Nimmo Smith case.

During that hearing their head of registrations was allowed to get in front of the judge and pose a wholly unacceptable, even dangerous, interpretation of the rules … and thus the SFA delivered on their promise.

Let’s not beat around the bush; Sandy Bryson’s testimony in this case was a disgrace, and without that testimony Nimmo Smith would have had no choice but to rule the dual contracts a violation of the regulations which would have ruled every one of the players who held them ineligible.

Every one of the matches in which they played would have been ruled null and void.

The Lord Nimmo Smith inquiry has to be placed in context.

The guys investigating Resolution 12 have proved, conclusively, that it was flawed, that Nimmo Smith himself was not acting with the full information, that he was either deliberately misled or given incomplete records; either way, there can be no question any longer about leaving that as the “final word.”

It is as badly compromised as it’s possible to be.

This events that transpired at Ibrox were shameful.

But the quest of the Bampots long ago moved on from being concerned with that.

The much greater, far more important, issue here is that the governing bodies be made to act within the rules and with the spirit of sporting integrity first and foremost.

Our gripe, our continuing issue, is with them, with people who are supposed to protect our sport but have subverted it instead, and they are at Hampden, not Ibrox.

The club that registered those players is no longer with us.

It cannot be punished, and the NewCo ought not be punished because of that.

But the records can be amended to reflect the reality of what happened here, and that was not simply ten years of financial doping which has been deemed against the law, but the systematic decision that club made not to disclose every detail of these players contracts to the appropriate body at the time.

The contract situation is far and away the bigger issue; other clubs have been kicked out of competitions for not completing paperwork properly.

A club that did not disclose payments to players and hid away second contracts, and who were doing this for more than a decade, cannot be allowed to get away with it because the guy the SFA put in charge of registrations was able to get in front of a judge and say that his association and its ignorance of that systematic wrongdoing negates the act of wrongdoing itself.

The media would have you believe this is all about Rangers; that suits their narrative because it lets them paint this campaign as one driven by rivalry, even hate.

This is about the people who run our sport and the way it is run.

It’s about the way the world will view Scottish football in years to come, and the way we view it ourselves.

It stinks to high heaven, and no-one’s “moving on” until it’s sorted out once and for all.

Fatty attitude all thru this has been shocking..But tonite he excelled himself..Ya could here the hatred in his voice..Alex Rae was the same on Tuesday..Just have to bombard Clyde to remove him..

  • Tarzan says:

Derek Johnstone should be kicked off radio Clyde for unadulterated bigoted slander. I for one. Do not live under a rock. Shocking behaviour.

  • ivo says:

i did not here the show but if he said this then he should face employee sanctions, Is this the behaviour and critical analysis of a respected football commentator. He would appear to be defending the undefendable by attacking others ,What the old co did was wrong (unless another appeals court changes this ruling). The historical accounts should reflect that. Clubs have been eliminated from national and European tournaments for one rule break 10 years worth is taking the (please insert your own venacular term here)
p.s does this effect the 5 stars on the top of the new co strips

  • Baz says:

Keep up the great work mate. We’re not “moving on”. If this all gets swept under the carpet, I’m finished with football.

  • Bo says:

We done nothing wrong.we are rangers .we can do as we please.we are a proud and honourable club .we are and always will be a sectarian club.watp and our new chairman is a glib and consummate lier just the man we need

  • Gerry1d says:

Every Crltic supporter needs to write to radio Clyde demanding he is replaced immediately
Any former Celtic player in the media should refrain from not supporting the clubs statement today
We know wee Provan and Murdo wont go against them

  • Cup Cake says:

Intersting that Radio Clyde customers who did not follow Rangers in Liquidation are described in such vile terms. That’s me now a former customer. Do Radio Clyde advertisers target the non Zombie market at all ?

DJ MUST NOW BE KICKED OF THE RADIO AFTER WHAT SAID ABOUT SCOTTISH FANS AND THE MEDIA TIME TO GO FATMAN

  • Rossi says:

I wonder if what Johnstone would say if his wages from Radio Clyde where subject to tax but Hugh Keevins had his paid via an EBT….TAX FREE!!!!!!

  • Kenny says:

Why do people still listen to Radio Clyde SSB or read the Record or give credence to any of the other Level 5 tainted media stories?
Switch stations, don’t buy their papers, don’t give their views oxygen. Are people honestly telling us they were “shocked” that DJ sounded like a totally biased Sevco employed mouthpiece?? That’s exactly what he is.
It’s like going to the Christmas panto and discovering that one of the characters was very nasty so people boo’d him! With a variety of Internet ‘bampots’ giving us the real stories these MSM Sevco mouthpieces have had their day.

  • AAFG says:

    Hi James
You may remember me from another site, without any fondness, but so what? No bad intentions meant then nor now. Like you I call it as I see it.
I have a greater problem understanding why you bother listening to The Great Numpty aka DJ.
You do research, he doesn’t know what that is.
There is no end to the glairing failures within the SFA/SPFL and they are only out to protect themselves.
All the current quagmire is going to take years to sort out, if ever.
    My theory?
    King’s exit strategy.
He has taken over a busted flush and can’t find a way out, but, in the Rangers way, he must be unfairly forced out by unfair, unreasonable opposition from diverse fronts.
Fewer and fewer are fooled by that so – the end is nigh – but it won’t be on his terms.
Take it cool, James, just let nature take it’s course and enjoy the result.
    Cheers
    Alex

    • Tyneside No1 says:

I think his get out card maybe Mike Ashley, Alex, what does a man with such wealth think, he must want to see the new club as being succesful or why buy into it. we have to guard against this man, like a game of chess , we must be one move ahead. Bottom line is only accept fair competition, honesty and transparency.

  • Stevie D says:

Couldn’t’ve put it better Kenny. Why any Scottish supporters other than ‘the peepul’ bother to expose them to this online abuse escapes me. They have TOTAL control of listeners’ input and can cut you off and carry on spouting their odious drivel ad nauseum. Years ago I stopped listening to Real Radio when that buffoon Cameron appeared to suggest that Neil Lennon brought on a life-threatening assault himself for having the audacity to venture out on the evening after a bad result for Celtic. I switched to Radio Clyde to find that, if anything, Keevins & Co are worse. His mantra when debates aren’t going his way is ‘It’s all about opinions’. But his is the only one in the country with any validity. I heard him talking to a caller as if he was 10 and unable to understand that Lennon’s attacker at Tynecastle – in full view of television cameras – had to be found not guilty of the assault because the wording of the charge suggested a sectarian element which couldn’t be proved. Keevins swept aside the caller’s query about how it was possible to discard the sectarian part of the breach of the peace charge – of which the thug was convicted – but not the assault. Once the caller had been cut off and more or less labelled an imbecile Keevins continued to belittle him and question his intelligence; saying things like ‘you really need to pay attention and read things carefully’ etc as if he was talking about a remedial class schoolboy. Near the end of that night’s programme the lawyer Paul McBride called in and was afforded the time, courtesy and deference due to a man of the legal profession when he was allowed to make EXACTLY the points the previous caller was ridiculed for. I thought Keevins was away home. We never heard another peep out of him. A bully and an arsehole!

  • Big L says:

As someone who followed Celtic fanatically during the 80’s,and 90’s, and 00’s hell yes they had an advantage. Most football games come down to fine margins with one or two incidents changing games. If you have better players (look at the list of players who received EBTs) your chances of winning games increases.

As you say the big story for me is not them losing or winning the Big Tax case but the way the SFA were not told about the second contracts. Teams have been thrown out off Cups for not filling in paperwork correctly even UEFA have thrown teams out for what could be called deemed “honest” mistakes.

This was no “Honest” mistake this was planned. I would be happy to strip them of the titles and for us and whoever else was runners up not receive the title. The important thing is to show that “cheaters” never win.

  • joemccormack says:

The EBT’S, illegal player registrations, are the tip of the iceberg.

Try and get on to SSB to talk about the 2011 Rangers Euro licence……they sh*-t themselves.

Have you seen any debate in the media whatsoever about Resolution 12, no me neither.

The fix is well and truly in but Ashley’s move for a judicial enquiry is a game changer.

Personally I can’t see the SFA and Ash squaring off in court. The minute the Conflicted One co es into the equation the SFA is holed below the water line.

This will be another Farrygate………SFA will remove CO from the process and have another vote, though given that they have played fast and loose with their own rule book they are doomed to failure.

The issue of the Euro licence in 2011……….?

I believe Celtic still awaits an answer from the SFA.

Time for Lawwell to get the finger out…..make a complaint to Police Scotland and let them investigate. Potentially, if wrongdoing took place, Celtic have been defrauded of millions of pounds and other Scottish club’s will have been impacted as well.

It’s perfectly understandable why the SFA is treading water on this………they know that we know and no longer can Darryl Broadfoot pump nothing to see here messages on his employer’s behalf.

A proper police investigation would provide the answers in 5 minutes.

In the interest of honesty and transparency the SFA should make public the licence application made by Rangers and the names of those making the application on their behalf.
The SFA should then make public the licence application signed off by them and lodged with UEFA, again with the names of the SFA officials involved in the process.

Now if everything was above board and fully complied with SFA and UEFA rules, and not for a moment I’m suggesting that it didn’t, then that would put an end to the West Of Scotland conspiracy theorists fantasies……….by the way Keevins the conspiracy theorists extend beyond the WOS, so perhaps you should just crawl under………..well you know the rest courtesy of DJ.

We know that Big Fat Blubbering Buffoon Derek You Must Be Gutted Johnstone didn’t crawl out from under a rock.

He couldn’t find one big enough to hide his vast sweaty bulk.

  • joe mccormack says:

One recurring name in this clusterf*ck is that of Sandy Bryson, the SFA registration supremo.

His name may not be widely known up till now but his testimony to the LNS enquiry will go down in history……….if a Gold medal could be awarded for Verbal Gymnastics then Sandy is your man!

This SFA icon can spot a missing signature, a missing date on a form from 10 miles away but seems to have limited vision when so e thing is right under his nose.

I give you the EBT payments recorded in the Rangers accounts each year from the outset of the scheme. All Sandy had to do was check that the EBT recipients details were included in the contracts filed in the cabinet sat right behind him……….tick, tick, no wait a minute, appears to be something missing……a aah.

Campbell old chap, just doing a check on these pesky EBT payments that have gone through the Gers accounts, none of them appear to be included in the contracts submitted to us.

Don’t worry Sandy, nuff said, that stuff is way above your pay grade, just keep your eye out for those club’s that are really taking the p*ss with missing signatures and dates, leave the big boy stuff to me.

OK CO, thanks for the heads up.

Bryson has history and not very good history at that.

Apparently he advised Jim Farry on the George Cadete registration fiasco that eventually cost Farry his job, but not Bryson ‘ s.

He looked at the paperwork in the Sion case and apparently found no issue with it.

UEFA took a slightly different view and threw Sion out of the UEFA Cup as a result, Celtic then being the beneficiary reinstated to the competition.

The Swiss FA also took a slightly different view on the registration paperwork and deducted points from Sion in their own national league.

I have no idea where the responsibility falls within the SFA to verify, do due diligence on and ultimately sign off on Scottish club’s Euro licence applications.

Making the paperwork public would certainly raise the level of understanding amongst us, common, paying football fans.

I think one of the earlier posters has got it right……..the game changer will be “Big Mick”,
The guys he put in place at Ibrokes were booted out and Ashley wont like that…….if he wins against the so called Scottish Football authorities and anybody else…..then he will call all the shots……….Micks QCs will hopefully have a field day in the courts, and that’s not counting that
“Biganded Yorkshireman”…….having his say as well.

Question for Derek Johnston on the subject of same club history intact. If after your playing career ended you die and your parents have another child they also name him Derek and give him your trophies does that mean he won them and its his history or did your achievements (history) die with you.

  • buffythecat says:

That mountain of flesh that is called Mr Big Fat Johnston would love to be controversial – but hasn’t got the brain capacity to do it properly so he has to resort to gut reaction ie: talking pi$h and hoping it upsets the ones he hates.
The poor overweight balloon has got nothing absolutely NOTHING to say that is even remotely worth the listening to.
He is more irrelivant than the five stars on a Sevco jersey.

  • Art says:

This guy should not be allowed back on this radio station how can this guy get away with some of the statements he keeps making and if radio clyde have any balls at all this clown should be removed right away
