Leigh Grffiths has failed to make the Celtic team to face Sevco today.
He isn’t even on the bench.
Leigh had a final fitness test yesterday and the decision has been taken not to play him. Either his injury is still an issue, or Brendan is taking a precautionary measure and leaving him out with Tuesday in mind. Brendan has gone with Dembele up front on his own, which is about what you’d have expected without Leigh in the team.
Let’s face it, this is a blow but not a serious one. Moussa is more than capable of carrying us forward, and a guy who took a crucial penalty in a do-or-die moment isn’t going to worry about playing a newly promoted Scottish team.
Patrick Roberts is on the bench too, which is a surprise.
James Forrest starts on the wing, with Scott Sinclair on the other. Tom Rogic will play behind Dembele, lending support to our attacking options.
There is no place in the starting line-up for our new boy Gamboa either; he sits on the bench.
Lustig, Tierney, Toure and Sviatchenko makes up the backline. Our central midfield is Brown and Bitton.
Craig Gordon is out. De Vries starts in goal.
Today is our fourth league game of the season, and thus far we have a 100% record.
This team selection is one that should guarantee that’s still the situation at full time.
There’s not much more needs saying, except good luck to the bhoys in green out there on the pitch, and I hope all of you enjoy the match and stay safe.
