Another day another statement out of Deranged FC.
Sevco has today demanded – yes, demanded – that the SFA review how its board members are appointed, and wants yet another inquiry.
This time into every decision Gary Hughes made whilst he was on the SFA board.
Indeed, they seem to want every decision the SFA board has made in the last three years to be investigated just in case.
This lot are now full-on howling at the moon.
Unable to take yes for an answer, they are now calling into question every single thing Gary Hughes has said and done. I presume that doesn’t include his own statement supporting the SFA’s decision not to hold an inquiry when Celtic requested it.
Isn’t it amazing how a club that has slammed inquiry calls as a waste of money now seems to want them into everything except how the Hampden toilets work?
How much longer is the SFA going to remain mute?
The SPFL has already released two statements slapping this halfwit back into his box.
Is Ian Maxwell already too cowed to stand up for himself?
King and his board are now openly bringing the game into disrepute, and I hope that Gary Hughes, now that he’s no longer going to be serving with the SFA, consults his lawyer to find out if Sevco’s statement of this evening is libellous.
“It is vitally important that those who do stand for election to independent posts in particular are indeed truly independent,” the statement says, as though every post at the SFA was not meant to have people in it who put the benefit of the game first.
King and his people are playing a dangerous game here, and a game is exactly what this is, although exactly what it is that King is after is difficult to fathom. He explicitly mentions the Note of Complaint, which he and his club had plenty of time and opportunity to respond to via official channels. Instead they chose to respond through the press.
King and his club are good at making these kind of statements. But I’m moved to wonder exactly what they regard the next move as being should they not get satisfaction – and nothing short of removing everyone from the governing body who has the remotest connection with Celtic will do for these Peepul, that much is clear.
The long and short of it is that they can scream as loudly as they want, but they are in no position to demand anything. They are one club, with one vote, just like everybody else and if they don’t like the way things are run they have two choices; to make alliances, as Celtic has tried to do, and convince people that they support fairness and transparency … or to sit down and shut up like the daft wee boy Dave King seems to constantly want to remind us he is.
Their posturing is not only pathetic, it’s toothless too.
More and more he and his club resemble a kid at a party screaming because someone else ate the last of the ice cream.
