  1. Celtic will not move forward until the Lawwells are gone. They are the latter day Kellys/Whites and suck the life out of the club for their own benefit.

  2. To my way of thinking ,it’s as if Celtic FC is shackled to the old Kelly dynasty back in the day where the old board were so miserable with money that when they walked ,they squeaked ! Tighter than an old brown jockstrap … the opening of a wallet ,meant you inhaled thick dust . A successful team on the park means the finance and business side of things are in rude health . There will be all kinds of organisations and individuals desperate to give Celtic FC money and sponsorship during the successful times . If decent ,big money is not used to buy proper class players ,those successes will dry up and we all know what the alternative to that scenario is ?

  3. To be honest, I lost all hope of getting a result when I saw the dugout before the start. It is bad enough looking at Kennedy and Strachan sitting there during a SPL fixture but you get a sinking feeling when you see them sitting, or standing even, during the CL music. They seem as out of place as a flyweight would have been in the opposite corner to Muhammed Ali.

  4. Totally agree with this statement. But I feel lawell is in the background getting involved in things he shouldn’t be. Leave the recruitment to brendan and michael. But we backed ange more than any other manager and he walked away.

  5. i am old enough james, to remember the latter years of jimmy mcgrory’s management reign…when the board,,,chairman bob kelly in particular, had total control of the team…even the starting 11…i’m sure arrogant lawwell reckons he’d do as good a job, if not better than any head coach/manager he employs…
celtic back then were the epitome of mediocrity….a shambles…until stein arrived..
ok we are nowhere even close to that now…
but i am shocked at the lack of ambition by everyone at boardroom level…shocked and so angry that they treat the celtic name and the fabulous fans in this manner…
i assumed when rodgers returned, something had changed in the boards outlook…that they had somehow seen the “error of their ways” since rodgers was here before…and as importantly, rodgers had seen a change in them…but they patently haven’t…
they are still content to send rodgers into mix it with the elite of european football with a combination of projects and sub standard – by european standards – players….
i feel sorry for the likes of calmac, kyogo etc…they need and deserve a better class of teamate …
i’m just amazed, and disappointed in him, that he has accepted the shackles which the lawwells have placed on him….
rodgers will walk again…..because there are 2 fukn lawwells now at the club…and nothing is gonna change any time soon….

  6. That’s the first warning shot fired across the bows of The Celtic Boardroom…

And fired subtlety yet openly and firmly it was indeed –

Well done Brendan, I fully expect a better Summertime transfer window in 2024…

But this is Celtic so who only knows how it’ll pan out !

    1. Yes and in the meantime we’ll get spanked again in Europe because liewell and the board refused to pay the money for proven players at a higher level than the SPL,I wouldn’t hold my breath on anything changing with this board they are happy just to stay ahead of sevco and the dross that is the SPL.

  7. James, Rogers would never
Have come back if he never had the final decision on who comes in and goes.He will get the same back-up as Ange got
    or more.

  8. Getting a bit concerned at present that this summer transfer window has the potential to totally split the supporters.
I can understand the frustrations, and Rodgers is hardly helping matters either.
Already starting to get the feeling that he is passing the buck to much currently on the issue, and feeding all the eejits within the Scottish media at the same time.
For his part in this, Rodgers still has to start getting this team into a proper functioning team yet.
What’s his next excuse going to be, about the inconsistency of many of this team at present, compared with what the same players have given us over the past 2 seasons?
So are we going to write off players 7 games into a season, when a top level coach/manager is in charge?
The money in the bank remains a rod to beat ourselves with, and Rodgers seems to be swinging that rod a bit to much currently for my liking.
Are we potentially getting back to the PL v Rodgers egoistic saga of years gone by, and the reopening of old wounds?
No individual is bigger than our club, and if these 2 don’t start getting there act together, then both will have to go, as far as I’m concerned.
Ridiculous talk so early into a season I know, but hardly in the humour of getting another repeat performance from these 2 either.
Rodgers isn’t short of money, so either get on with the job in hand and start bucking his own ideas up with getting ourselves back to playing decent, or walk away and continue to sulk.
If he walks, then the father and son lawall combination better be behind him.
Sick of these 2 egomaniacs thinking our club is all about them, because it’s not and never will be either.
Work needs to be done and both haven’t covered themselves in to much glory in how there currently doing there job’s, so thing’s want to start improving for both of there sakes

  9. Fourth, you say? I mind we finished fifth in season 89/90 with St Mirren beating us 3-0 at Celtic Park. That was after Roy Aitken left and we were woeful.
