Kapo Leaves Celtic (It’s Lawells Fault)

|

After a 10 minute sub appearance, then a start that lasted 20 mins, Oliver Kapo has decided to leave Celtic. On his blog he claims our CEO moved the goalposts of the agreed deal, blaming the weather as a reason for this. He also states:

I feel a deep injustice even though the coaching staff wants me to keep. Thus, despite the insistence of Neil Lennon and technical staff, I did not want to stay longer in a situation where obviously a young coach, however, a very experienced player, is not able impose his choice of executive direction and financial management. I can not and I do not want to be seen simply as a variable accounting adjustment.”

Further proof if needed that Lennon hasn’t got control over the full football department?

Update: Neil Lennon has spoken here. “These are the facts. Olivier Kapo signed a contract with the club which allowed us to terminate on January 10, 2011.  Celtic took this option to terminate as we felt he had not done enough to justify a longer-term contract.  We were willing to look at an extension to this short term contract with Olivier. However, he was not willing to accept these terms.

Party line from Lennon or the truth?

Kapo when he played looked like he would have been rather anywhere else than on the park. I was bemused at those who raved about his game against Murderwell. I’m sure some other mob may fall for his charms. This charade has ended has I predicted.

And Celtic fans are supposed to take the word of this foreign journeyman who is suddenly pissed off with his T’s and C’s and use his bitter parting shots as a rod to beat our manager? ….Rrrrrright…..

he doesn’t beat the manager he beats the CEO with a shitey stick. our manager comes out well.

Of course Liewell is calling the shots on the transfer front. No way Lennon knows about the markets all around the world with players arriving from each nation of the world on an almost weekly basis only to disappear just as quickly.

  • Sean says:

I think our CEO could be a closet ‘mike ashley’-alike?

  • Wuzz says:

    @AL,

I think you have stumbled on to the wrong site my Rankers supporting friend…….Liewell?, isn;t that the intellectual casting from shit such as Vanguard nazis?

  • chiefinkorea says:

For one reason or another he didn’t do enough to warrant a new contract – assuming January was the agreed time to review it.

It’s an interesting one just for the fact Kapo publicly states that Celtic offered terms that “divided my contract by 3” – will Celtic publicly deny that and if not can we assume Kapo is telling the truth?

Then there’s the rumours that Ljungberg has had a spat over amendments to his contract.

What a non-story. Trialist can’t get fit enough to feature, club offer reduced terms, he says no, should be end of the story but no….. it has to be the big bad boards fault! Sometimes I wonder if some of us enjoy doing the Hun media’s job for them!!!!

Read the blog again, try and embrace the sarcastic sensationalist tone. I agree with you as the blog says.
