Dead and Alive once said that “you spin me right round, baby right round“. I reckon that song is constantly on Walter Smiths grammar phone in light of another unchallenged bizarre rant against Celtic.
“If you are good enough you will win, but it suits them to build up an environment where everybody’s against them. Obviously, they are not or Celtic wouldn’t have won what they have if the world had been against them. Everyone has to remember Celtic won three out of the last five championships here, so if people really are conspiring against them I wouldn’t like to see what they’ll do once they stop. It suits them just now to gain some motivation from that ‘everyone’s against us’ type of attitude.”
Once you stop laughing at the irony from the man who is wearing the haunted look of grizzled dead badger about creating a siege mentality as being a bad thing – I’m sure it’s called mind games and great tactics when he does it – you have to wonder why this rant wasn’t challenged at the time. I’m sure Tom Murphy is as well.
Celtic were conspired against this season. Tannadice. It’s there in black and white. It’s now matter-of-fact for some Pulp Fiction writers – ok, one who is still looking for Han Solo and an other who is hiding behind a paywall – that there was bias against Celtic in past but they seem unable to pinpoint when this ended or what change.
Every club get’s dodgy decisions against them. Yes, I watch Sportscene. Celtic are cast as the panto villian in this piece as they have decided to question the workings of the universally agreed not-fit-for-purpose SFA and the poor officials that have been brought through the system. Every club has the right to do this. Not many do. That’s their problem.
The SFA is not fit for purpose. That is not us claiming there is a conspiracy against us. That’s us just trying to get the Scottish game some new shoes to break in.
It seems that this week The Myth saw he had competition for a vacant position in the SFA and decided to up the spin game. Gordon’s audition was pretty spectacular.
