There is nothin’ good about this evening but good evening anyway.

So, what’s the beef in the world famous player ratings (with added manager rating) and one sentence summary? I must admit that it’s a sad state of affairs when the only emotion that you can muster after 90 minutes is: Meh!

Here we go, your thoughts are always welcome.

The Summary

The false dawn reveals a stricken sinking ship that hasn’t enough lifeboats for the number of casualties.

i am very angry and frustrated. i cant belive some celtic fans r still backing lennon. it is clear he has lost the dressingroom and that the players r not playing for him. things r only going to get worse. how long do we wait till we do the best thing for celtic and sack the manager. lets be honest, do u c us going on a great run or do u c us throwing away more points every other week. when do we call it a day with the current management team ?…now please now.
as a great man once said “who is the more foolish ?… the fool ? or the fools who follow him ?
this cant go on we need change now !!!!

    • lordofthewing says:

I will say it again, sacking Lennon changes nothing. They will bring in another cheap option as no manager worth anything will work with our CEO. This is it, unless a MASSIVE change comes.

Lennon walking on the other hand…..

  • Gary says:

we miss Scott Brown..think that much is obvious now

    • Piratebhoy says:

But that in itself says it all. If we had real quality players like we deserve then SB wudnt get a look-in. But i do agree Gary, with this current group of half-hearters that we’ve got we do miss him

    • lordofthewing says:

I think we could have thrown any number of options at that today and got the same result. I struggle to see how Broonie would have added to today apart from maybe up the tempo.

      • bhoylondon67 says:

Brown upping the tempo was exactly what the game today could have done with, when you consider Brown,Izzy and Commons are missing I don’t think anyone could argue they are some of our better and influential players, with Commons it seems something is up. With him and Lennon and it’s a big loss to the team that he isn’t playing like he did last season, if he had things would be significantly different.

  • stonker says:

The mgt team cannot manage – the “who would you bring in to do a better job” thing has a simple answer – anyone with management experience. The team looks badly trained, the injuries mount, the player purchases are (to say the least suspect)and the team lacks heart. However, the disorganization and lack of tactical know-how is glaring, there are managers in the third division who could at least organize the team.

No – Lennon must go and Mjallby, and A.T. also.

    • lordofthewing says:

Some decent points but…….today, apart from making the subs earlier what would you have done?

  • ewanbhoy says:

look i know someone who works with the squad on a daily basis and i tell u things r bad. lennon has lost the respect of most of the players. commons almost had a square go with lennon and hooper just wants out. and on a number on occations lennon and thompson have turned up stinking of alcohol in the morning. the players see this and cant belive how unprofessional our management set up is. the board must pay big money to attract a decent manager with experiance at a high level or worse is still to come. we cant continue to back a manager who is clearly on the way down.

    • lordofthewing says:

If the management team turned up like you say I would fully expect them to be shown the door. Fall out’s happen all the time and I know Hooper wants to leave but his form is not being effected by that.

    • bhoylondon67 says:

Whoever is telling you this is taking you for an idiot, what a stupid thing to say Lennon and Thompson turn up smelling of drink, it sounds like something 1 bitter angry person posted on Twitter and the hordes of Lennon obsessed gers fans decided to salivate over. Poor effort.

      • lordofthewing says:

Folk thinking Thompson getting done for drink driving on the way to work is a regular occurance

  • ewanbhoy says:

i only tell u the truth.
the board r so out of touch with the goings on at lennoxtown they have no clue about this.
thompson is the one who is the biggest offender but he is lennons mate and lennon looks after his mates.
come on u must realise things r wrong at management level.
how can we go from the highs of last season to the mess of this season ? open your eyes the truth is out there.

  • Deekay says:

If it gets bad and Lennon goes,I hope he walks away and Lawell follows, I think he has forgotten what it is to be a Celtic fan and not to be on the celtic payroll.

  • danny_bhoy says:

The reason most fans, including myself, are reluctant to part company with Lennon is simply due to the fact that it would gratify that other mob and the media immensely.

There is obviously a massive element of loyalty toward Lennon from the fans but it’s time to stop letting that loyalty obscure the facts and do what’s best for everyone before this gets any more humiliating.

Honestly never thought it would come to this, but we’re becoming an embarrasment. Not even the impending foreclosure of castle greyskull can lighten the mood.

We are in deep, deep **** bhoys and ghirls.

    • lordofthewing says:

Blind loyality is for fools as is knee jerk reactions. We are somewhere in the middle now.

  • jimi88 says:

If Lenny doesn’t walk this week he’s not much of a Celtic fan . We passed the point of no return at Rugby Park , things are still in decline , and , worst of all…..

I checked the SPL table to see St fuckin Johnstone breathin down our necks whilst we chase Motherwell .

Fucking disgraceful . The bits behind Lenny’s ears are wetter than Rod Hull’s roof .

    jimi88

    • lordofthewing says:

The reason he probably hasn’t walked is because he is maybe blinded because he is a Celtic fan. Rod Hull. Classic.

  • Jimmy says:

Just wonder when enough is enough, read over various sites a couple of weeks back to keep the faith as we are going on a long unbeaten run with Lenny, that was before Killie, the same last week, even the players getting involved with stokes saying everywhere that they have the mental strentgh and fight to go on and win the league, next game 0-0 v hibs, please please please dont give us anymore of this utter crap, Lennon and his cohorts to go asap, who will we get anybody as quite frankly this cannot get any worse.

    • lordofthewing says:

So, your advocatting bringing someone else in in the hope they are better and that they can’t be anyworse? Heh, are you Peter?

  • Dave in Belize says:

Celtic have had a great history I as a Rangers fan am sorry for there form and for Scottish football I believe the time is right for a change what about David Moyes at least they would play with heart rather than wait for a wage packet

  • billy says:

congratulations rangers on becoming champions. Its no use hoping the go into administration and get 10 points deducted for us to win the league as we would be false champions. Thats iF we could win the league if rangers got 10 points chopped off. Fail fail

    • lordofthewing says:

Nice try. I would take being false champions as payback for their years of cheating and spending money they had no intention of paying back. Karma

  • bhoylondon67 says:

I would bring in O’Neill and have Lennon work under him for a year or two, would be a good move for everyone. I don’t think there are many options, I’d rather see the board back Lennon financially than bring in another manager who would want funds and a whole batch of new players, I would rather see Lennon given the funds to get in 3 quality players who should walk into our 1st team. These same players were unlucky not to do the treble last season, they have shown they are better than this, there are some really good players in the squad. I think Commons and Brown and Izzy not playing is obviously affecting our performances because they are all big players when playing well. Frustrating times for supporters. The pathetic performance by Collum today was just as disheartening as our teams performance, absolutely shocking, you know it’s bad when the commentators are literally cringing as they have watch such blatant bias, watching them squirm was almost comical. HH

    • brido67 says:

Aye and if they did he would prob. go back in for FREDIE, D JAMES,SOL,BULLARD ETC.JUST GIVE HIM HIS P45 PLEASE.

      • lordofthewing says:

You love mentioning players that he didn’t sign. I never married Jennifer Anniston does that make me a disgrace?

        • brido67 says:

So your saying he didnt try to sign them.Fact is he did just another reason why i think he is not goog enough to manage our club

          • lordofthewing says:

The squad i young. He tried to sign experiance. A sure fire sign that the man knows what we were and ARE lacking.

  • Dave in Belize says:

I will try again hopefully it will be sanctioned to be read Im a Rangers supporter and Im sorry that Celtic is in the position its in .They have a proud history and should be doing better look for a manager with heart and the players and the fans can respect .David Moyes strikes me as a person up for the job what do you have to lose its not criticism just the fact you could be doing much better knock me if you want Im just interested in better football for all fans

  • Thai Tim says:

Who could replace Lennon and his rookie backroom staff?

Martin O’Neill – Worth asking even if likely to reject offer.

Paul Lambert – Worth asking even if likely to reject offer.

Roy Keane – I have a feeling Roy would be a huge hit with his take no nonsense approach although a bit of a gamble. Currently unemployed.

Steve Coppel – Four spells at Crystal Palace between 1984 and 2000 saw the Eagles reach the FA Cup final, third place in the top tier and a play-off success to secure promotion to the Premier League. Coppell’s six years at Reading were also impressive with a Division One Championship and an 8th place finish in the top flight the following season. Coppell picked up the Manager of the Year award for both campaigns and, despite relegation in 2008, still has a good reputation throughout the game. Currently unemployed.

Phil Brown – Did a great job with Hull City. Currently unemployed.

Alan Curbishley – Did a great job with Charlton for 15 years and strict budget contraints. Currently working as tv punter.

Kevin Keegan – Although Keegan’s return to Newcastle was not as successful as his first when in 1995-96 they were beaten to the Premier League title on the final day, his record as a club manager is still fairly impressive with promotions to the top flight with both Fulham and Manchester City. Currently unemployed.

    I’m sure there are more!

    • lordofthewing says:

MON and Lambert wouldn’t consider the job. Keane is an enigma. Coppell, no thanks, Brown is at Preston, Curbs like Pardew is one of those over-rated guys because they are a sky luvvie and Keegan you are having a laugh.

Think more Mark McGhee and you get the level we are at.

  • john says:

O,Neill is not coming back. Give it up. And as for the notion that Scott Brown would have made all the difference…well what a pile of crap! hopefully he will walk. I would hate to see him get the sack and the fans clearly want him gone, not exactly the ‘it’s just the beginning’of last May. This squad needs to be dismantled as quickly as possible starting with chancers like Brown. Sell them all while we can still get a small profit for them because they are depreciating at an alarmign rate. Any lunatic who will pay 3-4 million for anyone on our books needs their head looked. It’s over…start from scratch.

  • Ruggygman says:

This cycle of disappointment every 2 to 3 weeks must stop now….. for those hard of understanding… that is NOW!!!!!
What are we…? St Johnstone f.c… whereby this level is acceptable.?? No, i dont think so….
Celtic fans…. drive and demand change.!!!!!!

    • lordofthewing says:

There is an Armageddon moment coming. Not just for us but for the whole game. I’m hanging onto my hat.

  • Young ala vin says:

How sad have we become when clowns say we miss s brown , what to run about like a fool pushing , pulling the usual pointless display with no end product and no doubt sent off as he sees the ship is sinking fast , Motherwell will come out like demons next week and beat us convincingly as we can’t handle teams in the spl with no skill but just kick the team about the park , it’s back to the drawing board as angers go on to win 4 in row , not the manger its the mismanagement who sat back and spent as the Huns spent

    • lordofthewing says:

I’m waiting for someone to call for O’Dea to return.

    • bhoylondon67 says:

Brown is a big miss, its not a coincidence our form has dipped with Brown and Izzy out, they are not world beaters but they are 2 solid players in their positions, Brown had a good season last season.

  • paranoidandroid says:

The season is over. NL should walk out tomorrow and let the idiots who caused this mess- the board- sort it out.

We need an experienced European manager- a proven winner- one that can get the best out of the current squad simply by adding two or three players in key positions.

I also pray to God that we never, ever give Roy Keane the job.

    • Thai Tim says:

How about the former Real Madrid boss Bernd Schuster? He won the La Liga title in his first season at the Bernabeu while playing an attractive style of football, much in demand by the fans after succeeding a certain defensive-minded coach in Fabio Capello in July 2007. Two excellent seasons at little known Spanish club Getafe.

      • paranoidandroid says:

I dont know much about Schuster, but he sounds like the type of manager we need- somebody that knows how to build a team and get the basics right, while still playing good football. A club like Celtic should be searching for guys like that all the time- even if it’s just for future reference.

  • chiefinkorea says:

Sacking Lennon may be the only option. The players must take their share of the blame (it’s huge) but unfortunately we can’t bin them all so as Lennon himself knows his head is the one on the line.

Last season’s effort shows it’s not a skill issue but it seems clear there are divisions in the squad and strained relationships between the coaching staff and certain players.

A new man may at least get them trying again. We may find out a good few of them have been taking the piss and should be run out of town.

    • lordofthewing says:

Lennon’s comments are worrying to say the least. He seems at a loss. Your right about the players attitude though.

But then. Does it really surprise you that they are really all selfish?

  • john says:

    Thai Tim
This is certainly creative. But guys like him would not touch it with a barge-pole. Celtic will not pay him or give him a budget equitable to what he works with now. It has to be a relative unknown (in Scotland anyway). Someone who has done very well in a smaller league by regularly competing in Europe against bigger clubs with bigger budgets. There are a few. Celtic will be able to provide higher wages and a bigger budget. Thus becoming attractive.
The board need to approve wholesale changes to training , transfers and organisation. They must do so immediately or we could be looking at another 6,7,8 or 9 in a row. It is that serious.
They have been saved because of the Champs League money earned and will again receive a huge bonus because of Celtic’s mismanagement.

    • lordofthewing says:

You will only attract someone who sees the job as either a step up or is that desperate for work they see it as a chance to get noticed again.
