The future for Celtic football looks bright as the team has locked up captain Scott Brown until 2015. It was critical for Celtic to get a new deal done for Brown as he was attracting interest from many top teams in England.

Brown never really showed any interest in leaving Celtic. “I could quite happily stay here for the rest of my career,” said Brown, “Celtic is a great place to be. There’s a great bunch of lads as well. I don’t see it as being un-ambitious because I didn’t go down the road. Give us six months and we can play against any one of those teams down in England and give them a great game.”

Brown Ready for Starting Lineup

It has been a long time since Brown has been in the starting lineup as he was out for over two months with an ankle injury. In the last two matches he was a second-half sub against Atletico Madrid and Dundee United, but he could be back in the starting lineup on Saturday against Hearts in a game that Celtic are favourites to win in football betting odds. Brown said his ankle is at full strength and he is ready to play. “When it comes to games, anything can happen when you are going into tackles and if it happens again it happens again. But I will come back stronger and stronger. The time I got injured wasn’t great for me because I had started to play some good football. Now we just hope to kick on. December is going to be a big month for us, especially the 28th.” That is the date when Celtic hosts Rangers.

Celtic Four Points out of First

It is a big month for Celtic who have pulled within four points of first place Rangers in the Scottish Premier League. Brown believes the team is ready to make a move. “I feel I have a lot more to achieve. I’ve only won one league title and we want to get it back from Rangers.” Brown said, “We’re catching up, and they have dropped a few points.” One of the big reasons for Celtic’s improvement lately has been the defence, led by Daniel Majstorovic. Celtic have conceded just two goals in their last six league games. “I think Majstorovic has been a really consistent performer in the last five or six games and that has given us an air of solidity,” said Celtic manager Neil Lennon.
