BBC Sports Scotland Last Night Was Just A Two Fingered Salute To Celtic Supporters.

Celtic fans watching BBC Sportscene last night got more than they bargained for, eah? We normally expect the panel of three to have two ex-Ibrox men on it, particularly as Steven Thompson anchors the farce. But last night our fans were treated to three of them.

There’s not even the remotest pretence of impartiality with them any longer. That was a flat-out piss take. That was a two-finger salute to our entire support. It was an insult and it’s hard not to believe that it was other than a calculated one.

We joke about this all the time, about how the one qualification required to get a gig there is not intelligence or being capable of breaking down games but having once wore one of the jerseys of Ibrox. Last night they took that to its natural conclusion and I don’t think a single one of us was laughing at how nakedly, brazenly biased that panel was.

And of course their “analysis” reflected that in almost every respect except when Foster briefly got angry over Todd Cantwell’s astonishing bit of playing acting. These people only just stopped short of demanding points deductions for us. Although we’re all by now pretty used to seeing Sportscene behave as though it were merely an extension of SevcoTV they went all in with this one. Most fans I know who watched it were absolutely appalled.

But what do you do about it? As long as the license fee is mandatory we’re screaming into the void. These people have stopped caring what we think. That they can put on such a nakedly partisan panel last night and basically criticise every decision we got when, in fact, Hibs were lucky they finished the game with ten players and we were always going to get the points.

None of them commented on the naked cynicism of the Hibs display, none of them bothered to point out that they wasted so much time that the game lasted over 100 minutes … that’s virtually unheard of unless there’s a serious injury and a lot of on-field treatment. Even with VAR checking everything it shouldn’t get near that.

But according to this panel of ex-Ibrox men, it was the red card – which they thought was undeserved – which killed the game. That and our penalty which they also thought shouldn’t have been given. All objectively analysed of course.

The BBC is under fire from all sides right now, and they needed to put on a show like this the way seals need to swim in the kill-zone of a great white shark. It is an organisation which, as a whole, has given up on its own survival. On this evidence it doesn’t deserve to.

Loving the biased fear of them all….Double yellow at Motherwell was a joke, even Wee Sleekit called it out and a goal that was clearly offside given by VAR…

They know rangers cannot lay a glove on us and that’s likely to be the Narrative for the majority of time for seasons to come…. Fright Night on repeat for the foreseeable.

    Lovin’ it HH

  • SSMPM says:

Hypocrite tax cheat McCann has a cheek accusing any player of cheating. Like so many of his deid club’s fellow players did he ultimately was involved in cheating rangers fans of their club’s survival, no lie there.
Throwing your toys out the pram because you can’t handle being a tax cheat loser fan of a new club that’s on the same midden ground of the deid tax cheating club you contributed to liquidating whilst trying to appear sanctimonious is nearly as hypocritical as putting your assets in your wife’s name whilst sitting besides two nomark low ball achievers pretending to be somebody’s. Like mutton dressed as lamb and underneath that sneering reptile skin is the loud sound of the painful screaming of a defeated and vanquished man that has lost everything.
The sooner we win the league and cup treble the sooner we’ll see the end of the three nobody’s and a shit show. HH

Don’t watch it and don’t give publicity to this organisation

  • Marie says:

And that dear reader is why you shouldn’t listen or watch this joke of a programme. Cancel the licence (your telly works well without one) and choose another outlet. Hell will freeze over before we will given a fair review from any of the clowns masquerading as sports presenters its not worth bothering about. I used to be raging listening to phone-in’s my blood pressure must have been going through the roof every night until I realised I was torturing myself when all I needed to do was switch off. BP restored to normal. The only notice they take is of viewers numbers. If enough stop viewing they’ll get the message

Foster said Johnston stayed down until he knew the Hibs man has been booked. There was no basis whatsoever for that slur. It’s not as if Johnston peeked up and gave a Sakala-esque thumbs up to the support. The faux outrage at Cantwell’s antics was embarrassing.

  • John S says:

Impartiality within the BBC is most definitely under scrutiny. BBC Scotland should answer any complaints to licence payers according to rules and guidelines. Should anyone be unhappy with their response they should take that further with the relevant adjudicator (Mason Boyne KC).

  • Nick66 says:

Pay a fee? Nah, man knocked my door, I talked to man I said I’d accept a card and pay £3 and bit weekly. Man leaves and I await payment card. No card arrived, however emails came in with links to pay on line (payment plan) . I never pay anything online. So I offered to pay by card at paypoint but they changed the agreement. Three do not ignore, red and white letters delivered, each ignored as they cannot enforce. When I mistakenly answer the door to them again I’ll make a payment arrangement and subsequently be remiss in my obligation.

    • Magua says:

If you live in Scotland, Nick66, non-payment of the license fee is not a criminal offence. I haven’t paid a penny to them since 2014. My advice to others is: don’t sign up to any payment plan. If you do so, and default in payment, then Sheriff Officers can legally enforceable payment. Simply stop paying. Ignore the letters from Darlington, and if an enforcement officer does turn up at your door, politely ask them to leave. They cannot legally enter your abode, without the permission of the householder.

      Hail Hail.

Who cares what these duds”say what really can they say Celtic won again 9 points clear goal difference plus 27 9 games to go league cup in the cabinet . I hear tav has said we will see the real the rangers come April at Celtic why do these halfwit players spout so much bullshit”they played in a cup final and got well beat better to do there talking on the park. But then again halfwits do talk bullshit most of the time they are all hurting badly lovely.

  • mhiguel66 says:

The license is not ‘mandatory’ James, it’s up to the household / individual to choose whether to or not; I chose NOT TO PAY and never will again.EVER.
Unsure why you chose that word, because mandatory it is not.

  • D Campbell says:

Can someone who is tec savvy put something like an epetition together and get the fans of all clubs sign it to get these people removed.

  • Hunbasher says:

This is what you get for your TV Licencing fee. Not only is the BBC institutionalised, they make us pay for what we don’t even want to watch. We should have won that game 4-1. We should have got the penalty they “changed their minds about”. Still don’t think that was worth a sending off for Hibs. First yellow wasn’t, and the second wasn’t either, in my opinion. Just a high leg twice. The secret with the “establishment” is just to take it in, laugh, and then spit it back out again. Leave the winding up to ourselves. Chris Sutton is brilliant at it. He really knows how to get their blood boiling.

  • Pcelt says:

Why get annoyed? As long as we are winning the league, cup already in trophy cabinet and hopefully another one to come,we should have a big smile on our faces at their failed continuous attempts to stop us.

  • Gerry says:

It’s so in your face now they don’t even bother trying to hide it. The CCV part was incredible I believe one of them said he shouldn’t be pulled down so easy as he is a big lad football punditry at it’s best !!!

  • Charlie Brady says:

I am 77 years of age am supported Celtic from over 65 years, I watched a program which Archie Mc Pherson and other presenters from the past discussing BBC Scotland employment policy which was biased against anyone of the R C faith. I viewed the programme over the weekend and agree wit the author’s comments, in recent years I stopped buying the daily record as it’s view is anti Celtic, the BBC presenter and panels should be 100% unbiased which they are not.

  • Kevin Dunne says:

Why ANYONE is surprised at anything sevco based on sportscene or the daily record (aka Huns news) sadly Scotland is predominantly mason controlled but that,s how it,s for as long as I can remember and I,m no spring chicken
