Coffee & Tv: Twats In Europe: Celtic Are Afraid Of The Big Bad Wolf

|

You’d think that you learn? Last season we got decent results against the average away from home. Rapid and Hamburg. 2 draws. Decent return. This season? Well, Braga proved some wrong but they weren’t top drawer. FC Utrecth, mid table Dutch outfit, a league similar to ours. Winnable? Too right. Chances of embarrassment? Slim. Or so we thought.

My stream was advertising lose your flab pills. Lose 6lbs in 6 days and tone up in a week. No need. Celtic can make you lose weight like Karen fecking Carpenter in 90 mins.

Do we get confused when we travel abroad? The time difference, different cultures and that strange money called Euros. Do they need to re-tune their ipods? Does it confuse their tiny little brains that the hotels Tv have people speaking foreign and they can’t watch Living Tv? Or are they just pampered poncified bottle merchants who deserve to play chicken blindfolded on the nearest motorway?

That was terrible. So low that some Chilean miners have new company. 4-0 going on 8 or 9 to a team that had the vast array of talents that included being able to run quite quick, passing a ball to a team-mate and knowing that the aim of the game was to get shots on goal. Basics.

The measure is this. Have we really signed players that are Joe Average or was tonight another example of what happens when you stick a rookie in charge? SPL  to blame? Dodgy Ref?  Call Quincey there is a corpse that needs probed.

Hell, call Stuart Baxter.

This result is a monumental disaster for the club. Another comic caper in 3 years of comic capers. The financial disparity between the Champions League and the Europa League this week was laid bare. Failure to reach the Europa League will see the PLC taking out the turkey, placing their heads in the oven and blowing out the pilot light.

Have they got room for one more?

Oh, I haven’t found any links to the goals but if you have seen any Celtic European away performance over the last 5 years then you will know the type of goals we lost. Aye, stoppable ones.

Coffee & Tv MOTM: Heh, yer having a laugh.

    Oh my. Out of Europe, focus on the league (and possibly treble). Only comment for now. Lenny’s given us highs and lows and little in between. We’ll not play a team better than us for the rest of the season. NOW let the judgement begin.

  • lordofthewing says:

    @Jay

    The only team that will beat us this season is ourselves. Braga and Utrecth have both been poor.

    Both winnable ties. Bejesus, I’m really struggling at the moment.

  • hoops69 says:

    I cannot believe this is happening again and again. Rankers have signed decent quality players and we have signed donuts. Very worried for the rest of the season. Samaras and Fortune sell them both for a pound but who is going to come to us now, not Keane unless he has no ambition left in him. How much more of this can we take before we are in a worse financial state than rankers???

    Hail Hail (I wish a big stone would fall and hit me on the head).

    • lordofthewing says:

      @Hoops69

      Judgement will get made on The Huns quality but it’s hard not to get worried about the rest of the season. Apart from SPL sides we have failed to step up against any team the right side of shite.

      The financial Armageddon is heading our way. Who will be next seasons McGeady?

      No-one with a reputation will come to us. Even when we flirted with the idea of Europe they wouldn’t come to us.

      I’m going to revert to type and blame the scottish league. cunts.

  • Sean says:

    The two early pens killed us off. Watched the match on a polish neighbours satellite TV. The stats at half time said it all for us no shots on goal none on target. It reminded me of the St Mirren match when they mashed us 4-0.

    Still I am positive. Focus on the league campaign now.

    Next stop a striker…

    • lordofthewing says:

      @Sean

      Such sensibility is lost on me at this time. Off course losing the early goals changed the tie but at the moment I prefer to blame that away kit….

  • liam says:

    treble? lmao get a grip, we need a clear out from top to bottom, lennon and lawwell must go

    i wont be back

  • Jay says:

    Hold on, we have a domestic campaign and nothing else and we want to BUY? No, ups and downs with Lennon but NOW it’s time for him to show he can win in Scotland with the squad of players he’s already got, then strengthen next summer. Maybe ship out but he’s got some players just now. Save a bit of cash and maybe make a little.

    • lordofthewing says:

      @Jay

      You may see transfers getting thrown about like confetti on a whores wedding day over the weekend. If anything we have learned over the last 3 seasons we don’t seem to have a rigid plan. It seems to change dependant on the mood.

  • Wildrover says:

    I’m stunned. Still too many fairies in the team that are made to look good by the SPL. Hooiveld looks like a right prat after his bravado the other day.

    The whole team was dreadful but how the hell did Cha stay on the pitch ?! We’ve been chronic away in Europe for years so I don’t put the blame squarely on Lennon, but I don’t understand why this happens again and again and again !

    • lordofthewing says:

      @Wildrover

      Our love is grown in the SPL for these players. It’s like being top dog in your local disco then going to the big city disco and realising that your an ugly scrot who doesn’t drive a flash motor. Problem is we are not even losing out to cunts with decent cars anymore.

  • Sean says:

    @LOTW

    I agree those with the secret handshakes at the scottish league (Legion) of doom need to pull their fingers out. I say this to them “Remember Gretna?” Aye well different circumstances but this shit needs sorting and fast. Are we really at a stage that scottish clubs are of a lower quality to dutch mid tablers, hungarian semi pros and half amateur slovenian teams.

    Just remember those in suits when you are thinking of ideas to spruce up scottish league structure the multi ball system from the budweiser adverts cannot be an option…

    ….Its thats preposterous that I guarantee that was probably on their list of “good ideas”. Rant over.

    Fuck it mon the hoops…

  • lordofthewing says:

    @Sean

    I remember laughing at the huns in the 90’s when they blamed a poor league on them not doing well in Europe.

    I’m not jumping into that bed no matter how right it is….

  • Sean says:

    @LOTW

    Can’t deny its a pish set up. Do any other major European leagues have a split?
    (and before you get me on it, you cant say hajuk)

    Does the split work? Is it time the SPL got bigger with an expansion of another dozen teams?

  • CheifInKorea says:

    From the high of Sunday to this!!

    Of course the SPL is pish but I’ve got to say, that even though they also went out it seems Utd and Motherwell at least put in repsectable performances. Celtic just can’t do the basics away from home for some reason.

    Now with 4 or 5 days to the window shuts, what do we do? Catch 22 – can we afford the time new players may need? On the other hand, can we afford to stick with this lot?

    Sadly, for all their dirty, cheating ways, the Huns are looking solid enough for the SPL. So were we but we’ve shown how inconsistent we can be.

  • bluebelldel says:

    ha ha ha ha ha anothr crap manager ,mer money waisted oan crap signings an best of aw yeez urny selling samaras mon the gers watp

    • lordofthewing says:

      @bluebeldel

      In the aid of international relief sanataion, food and water are available at the door. Oxfam will provide English lessons. It’s the queens English you know.

  • BoulderBhoy says:

    I am gutted by today’s result, but I have cooled off enough to have some coherent thoughts, or so I believe. First off, we need depth at striker. Fortune and Sammy proved today that they are still every bit the streaky players that they have been in the past. I heard that we are close to signing Stokes today, which I think is a good signing, especially since we won’t see Europe for another year.

    Second, I am not sure that there has been a more important league title season in quite some time for Celtic. The financial ramifications from a failure to win the league this season would be catastrophic. We need the CL money badly.

    Third, start Forster on Sunday. I have seen quite enough of Zaluska.

    Finally, I have faith that Lennon is still the man for the job. He deserves his right share of criticism for tonight and has owned up to his blame with his post match comments. Some of the comments regarding Lennon that I have read today have made me sick though. For my money, there are few others who I would want in charge of Celtic right now. He loves the club and will not let it or us down. Hail Hail

    • lordofthewing says:

      @ boulderbhoy

      Sammy and MAF will be made scapegoats but my beef is why were we still relying on them? We knew it would end in tears and snotters.

  • Rooster says:

    Ha ha ha! FAIL! Yous lot are rank rotten. 3 in a row here we come! A policy of signing quantity and trying to re-jig an entire team year on year is madness. No time to settle. Keep up the good work. Sumus Populi!

    • lordofthewing says:

      @rooster

      Glad we entertain you. Yer mum says be in for 10 and shout as she’s up the stairs with your grandad.

  • john says:

    We lost this tie in the 2nd half at Celtic Park, 2-0 up at half time ,in control and what did we do , WE SAT BACK AND DEFENDED , if we had played like we did in the 1st half we could have score 4 or 5 , one header by wee Forrest was our only attempt on goal in the 2nd half.IF and i mean IF ,we win the SPL do we forget tonight and continue down the slippy slope we have been on .Lenny is an Idol but he has never managed a team before ,we were told because of his passion his love for Celtic he was the man , well I , like thousands of other tims ,have passion , love and live and breathe Celtic it doesn’t make me the man for the job , Lenny you promised thunder ,2nd half first leg and 90 minutes tonite i heard a whimper , even at 3 down 1 goal put us back in the driving seat , but those who wore the jersey tonite had already give in , i pay to wear my hoops with pride , i watch those who get paid disgrace the Celtic way disgrace the Hoops , is this what we are now wannabeees . I will finish by saying well done to those time who travelled to see the game you showed up but our team didn’t

    • lordofthewing says:

      @John

      I didn’t hear to many compaints about a 2 nothing win last week. Last night is just Celtic. And don’t we love them for it?

  • sixtaeseven says:

    Still sore 🙁
    The only positive I can find this morning is that I am not a hun 🙂

    We are now back to earth with a thump, we now know that we have a lot of serious hard work ahead, and we can now focus 100% on every domestic game from now until May.
    I think it’s called a reality check.
    OK, I know, we’ve had them before…

    But more than ever, the league has got to be our No.1 objective.
    I’m still backing Lenny and the team.
    But a performance like last night’s, will have half the SPL teams sniffing blood – starting at Quagmire Park on Sunday.

    Please Celtic, don’t eff up against the Well, otherwise it could get nasty…

  • Ianin440 says:

    Really disappointing, not made any better having to listen to the latest anti Celtic Radio Scotland wally.
    Come on the Bhoys on Sunday! 🙁

  • HoopsareForever says:

    Last nights performance was a total capitulation no matter what way you look at it, and the blame lies firmly at the feet of Peter Lawell and his fellow board members. For the past 3-4 years the incompetent decisions made at board level have cost us league titles, CL qualification, countless millions and seen us come second to a club thats on it’s knees. Now we are not even good enough to qualify for the Europa League.

    We all know the club has limitations in the current league set-up but under the stewardship of this board we have lurched from one disaster to another and are going backwards as a club. Those at the helm are destroying the reputation and standing of Celtic Football Club.

    Enough is enough.

    • lordofthewing says:

      @hoopsforever

      Loads agree with those views me included bur many will see selling Fortune as a step in the right direction while I see signing him as part of the problem.

  • boh67 says:

    Congrats LOTW…. you know your sites made it when you get hun pets… oh sorry cant call them huns anymore, its sectarian

    hun hun hun hun hun hun hun hun hun hun hun hun hun hun hun hun hun hun hun hun hun hun hun hun hun hun hun hun hun hun hun hun hun hun hun hun hun hun hun hun

  • ianin440 says:

    I think it`s fair to question playing 4 3 3 on Thursday. Midfielder at full back and too many non tackling players AND wearing that jinxed away outfit! 🙂
    Hopefully the team will spring back at Motherwell.
    Have a good weekend!
    The consolation is less Sunday games! 🙂
