This morning, one of those interesting stories which always makes me smile; a journalist in Argentina has accused two Daily Record journalists of writing lies about Alexander Bernabei and an interview he gave to the media in his native land.

Bernabei told the interviewer that he had been to keen to get to playing first team football on a regular basis. That was the most controversial thing he said.

The Record put its own spin on it by essentially saying that he’d told them he couldn’t wait to get out of Celtic. Of course, he said nothing that could even come close to justifying that interpretation.

The least surprised people in the world here were we, the Celtic fans.

How many times has The Record done that, and in particular with a foreign language interview which they know they can twist as much as they want as long as nobody goes off and finds the original and does an accurate translation of it. Put it this way, this isn’t the first time this has happened.

They are caught doing this over and over again.

Celtic has a long-standing policy of not putting restrictions on the media, but seriously? How bad does it have to get before we start handing out bans?

We welcome the media on the basis that they are doing their covering games, writing about the matches and the issues. But what if they aren’t just doing that but pursuing agendas? Chasing headlines and hits? What if they appear driven only be agendas and consistently misrepresent people?

Do we welcome them then? Because then they aren’t impartial professionals simply doing their jobs but people determined to smear us and attack us any way that they can. Why should we allow them to do that from our front room?

This one isn’t even speculative, this is open and shut.

These people wilfully misrepresented what our player said just to generate a negative headline. If that doesn’t get you banned from Celtic Park what in God’s name will it take before someone does?

Anyone connected to the Record is beneath contempt.
In my opinion, those who read it are intellectually challenged.

A lot more has been said and done and not elicited a ban from Paradise. It happens week in week out on bbc sportscene, press, and radio snide usually involving their elite selection of Celtic haters.
If our board hard a backbone there would be next to no media and press representation already.
Still well done to the argue journo. HH

You do similar in your workplace to a rival ???
Management would have you interviewed that you were telling the truth.
Telling lies would be placing the company you represent in “Disrepute” or worse…
Celtic should tell them that until a correction has been printed or “Butland” once took training to be a catholic priest is printed then they are not welcome at Celtic Park.

When I do my daily search for Celtic (-Rangers) news, I really try to avoid opening anything from the Daily Retard, and in fact I love it when I see a ‘Spew Keechthings Says…’ link because I know immediately to avoid it!

I have lived outside of Scotland for the last 30 years and I don’t think I have bought ANY Newspaper in the last 20 years, never mind the Daily Retard etc. I am therefore astounded that Celtic FC have not yet reversed their prioritisation of the largely redundant Printed Press in favour of their (only) friends in the Celtic Media.

The so-called SMSM are no friends of Celtic, so why give them the time of day, never mind privileges? It is time for Celtic to really change their thinking on this and to put their Celtic Internet Media Friends front and Centre where they belong!

    Over to you Celtic…

( – Rangers)…. Ha Ha – That’s a novel and new way in a very shorthand manner of saying – There is no ‘rangers’ !!!

  • Clachnacuddin and the Hoops says:

Well – I walked past the paper stand yesterday on ma way to the post office in Tesco and what did I clock…

The Press and Journal – sold out bar one…

The rest – a kinda mixed bag –

The Daily Record though – a huge pile of shite that clearly no one is buying at all (in that Tesco anyway)…

They cannot possibly sustain this and they cannot have too long to go until like Rangers did in (c.2012) and kick the bucket…

Just how beautiful and succulent and sweet will it be to see them fail, fold and their cars and houses being repossessed by their lenders…

Oh the jelly and ice cream days coming down the pipe for all of us Celtic supporters…

Or in my case plenty of Highland, Lowland, Speyside and Islay Malt Whisky…

Revenge is such a succulent dish when served cold…

Our revenge shall be the laughter of their tears !

will the Daily Record come back as The The Daily record.?

These black and white, non vague articles should be fair game to the Celtic PR team…. Just ask for an explanation and the truth and see the DR retract the story, continue that theme until they run out of shoite to make up about Celtic.
